Courtesy of a fan who donated photo. Looks like early 1990s.
All bottom four- Google Maps. From top to bottom: 2007, 2011, 2019 and bottom with the writing-- May 2019. That is right, It has to be some one who is targeting the Democrats with the words, "Get out of my swamp" because President Trump's goal is to drain the swamp. Apparently he had to stop spray painting the words. Did a cop or someone spoked him? Never know!
Skate Scene 38 School Street, Bangor, ME
What a scene now. It is real sad that it is closed. Skate Scene used to be at 38 School Street in Bangor, Maine. It was a warehouse like building parallel to the road and close to the road too.
It ran from 1980 to 2000. Just 20 years of operations at the end of the 20th Century. Carolyn Schultz owned and operated this certain rink.
Sadly, there are no other information I can provide that a rink closed 20 years ago. The building was built 20 years ago but I am not sure about any rinks before 1980 with Skate Scene. Anyone?
After Skate Scene closed, it became a Family Dollar then it became empty with a huge illegal writing on the wall saying, "Get out of my Swamp!" which refer to a political statement aiming against the Democrats and the Socialists/Communists because the Swamp is what President Donald Trump said to drain the swamp.
Loop Net posted the ad for the former Family Dollar store location started in July 11,2019 and they updated that it was no longer on the market or sold by October 26, 2020.
The Interior.

The Exterior.
It does look large but it is a small building with 11,217 Square Feet floorplan. It was quite narrow and low for sure. The photos will explain that clearly. It even had or the property still have 325 Feet frontage. Originally the rink itself had two color tones on the Steel sheet metal wall-- It appeared to be Dark Maroon and Tan vertical stripes on the wall which gave a classic circus big-tent feel up front. Then with the dollar store, they painted all Sand Tan color.
The Stats:

Building Size: 11,217 SF. Built: 1960. Demolished: Still standing. Renovated for dollar store, now empty.
