Both of Google Map. First taken in 2007 followed by 2018. Hardly changes. Just the sign / name was changed.
Skate Palace 1600 Cheri Whitlock Drive, Siloam Springs, AR
Skate Palace was founded on Dec. 31, 1997 at 1600 Cheri Whitlock Drive, Siloam Springs, Arkansas before it became a church, well, two churches. Apparently it did not last that long From 1997 to before 2007 because Google Map has that place as a church thanks to the blurred sign. You will see it above.
Not much to say. Just that Arthur Stout opened the rink after years of dreaming to open it up. His main job was a farmer at the time of opening the rink with his wife and their daughters, Dayna, 19; Dalana, 15; and Danica, 13 (as of January 1998)
The 10,000-SF rink is located in a new 20,000-SF building, and the floor is lit with 14 mirror balls, 16 spotlights and a variety of colored lights. The rink also has laser lights and a fog machine.
According to real estate, they did not go further back but I am aware that two different church were housed at this location. The change of transaction was in 2004 when they sold the building for 800,000 USD. They sold it on Oct 11, 2004 after it was listed for 875K in Aug 27, 2004. Finally sold for 800K. Likely that was when they sold the rink. Not even 7 years. A few rinks have closed in much faster time.
The Interior.
The rink itself was 10,000 Square Feet, exactly half the size of the building. Normally any rinks have at least 20 percent at the most for resting area including snack bar, eating area, billiards and games, and skate rental and lockers. But 50 percent? Almost unheard of. But what material floor did they have? Concrete? I saw this church on Facebook and the floor is concrete. It does not mean it was concrete floor rink. It could also be a base for Maple wood. Who knows.
They also had arcade games, pool tables and a snack bar. The 10,000-SF rink is located in a new 20,000-SF building, and the floor is lit with 14 mirror balls, 16 spotlights and a variety of colored lights. The rink also has laser lights and a fog machine.
The Exterior.
20,000 Square Feet Gable-roofed Free-Span Steel Truss Steel-Walled Warehouse - like Building. It is Dark Cold Gray color all around. Likely that was the same color as it is now back then. Very simple look. But has a large canopy for skaters can go in or out of their parents' vehicles.
It looked so new. It was new. And the neighborhood is too. A new church cross the street from the old rink. Both are very competing non-denomination churches. I say that because both churches have logos just so similar. Both have a tree for a logo! Be creative, churches! Not to be similar to one or the other.
The Stats:
Rink Size: 10,000 SF. Floor: N/A. Floor Layout: N/A.
Building Size: 20,000 SF. Built: 1997. Demolished: Still standing, now as a church.

Acres: 3.95 acres.
Operated: December 31, 1997 to N/A.

Wanted: Information regarding photos of when it was in business, both inside and outside. Why closed? What floor material? When they closed?
Anyone has pictures and/or information please let me know at [email protected]. Thank you.
