Skate Heaven Entertainment 151 Lakeland Blvd, Denham Springs, LA. This was taken in 2016, perhaps after the Great Flood. Sad it is gone. There apparently damages on this building as you can see. I thought it might be fire but wrong. It was flood. you can see clearly on the left half side of the building. The left side of that tree in the front of the building. Source: Google.

Reminded me of a rink in Florida with much of this style but theirs were not cosmic. I do not recall the name now but quite similar. Source: Skate Heaven through Groupon.

Skate Heaven Entertainment (Complex)151 Lakeland Blvd, Denham Springs, Louisiana. There are a number of way to say this as I noticed on the lists I have of all rinks from 1990s and 2000s. Skate Heaven, Skate Heaven Entertainment, and Skate Heaven Entertainment Complex. Whew, quite a bit of names everyone called it. One and the same.
It was founded in 1996 but closed a few short years later. It was closed in 2015. It is sad because from what I see in photos, it appeared to be really heaven for sure! Beautiful layout, murals, the atmosphere is very "ahh, feel good to skate and play!"
Really interesting because of the name. Sounds very family friendly. It was, in fact, a Christian roller rink.
Teresa T. was the manager of the rink.
UPDATE! -- 28 June 2021.
The owner of the rink was none other than Dr. Renee Harris, an OB Gyn in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I received an email from a parent who took her children to this rink. She also said this that Dr. Harris and her family would skate with their own skates at this rink on Friday nights. Sounds awesome however, it is sad they are no longer a rink there.
UPDATE! -- 04 August 2022.
I received an email from a former employee.. Here is what the email described--
Hi! Good morning!
I randomly found [D]ead [R]nks today when I was telling some friends about working and visiting Skate Heaven in Denham Springs.
I wanted to reach out because it seemed like you had a lot of questions regarding why it shut down. I think the business was no longer lucrative, but i'm not certain. However, it closed down for good in 2015. The reason the photo from 2016 looks like that is because there was what we refer to as "The Great Flood of 2016" that flooded most of Livingston Parish ([D]enham [S]prings got it probably the worst).
They were already closed by that point and I believe that the Dodge dealership that was built in front of them purchased the land/building in 2015/2016 before the flood.
I kind of knew it was the dealership took over to expand their property to park more cars. Many dealers did this during 2000s and 2010s but many are now lacking cars due to supply shortages plus the demand are greater than manufacturers are able to manufacture in the Great Fear Period of 2020 and on.
The Interior.
It appeared to be White Polyurethane coated Concrete floor. A lot of it has blue here and there mostly on the walls. There are murals of course. All I found is a photograph of a smiling little girl with her mother happily skating with. The photograph is awesome and showed how happy a skater is. But I do not want close up of their faces here on D-R.
The arcade looks like a space of their own in a separate room. That is the front right side (facing the building), and the rink in the back.
Fans noted this place was in terrible shape and needed to be thoroughly cleaning with their carpet and update their bathrooms. Apparently for 15 years, the skates have abused the titles on the floor. And broken doors. It is sad to hear those and please owners, always repair them and always update every 7 years. Follow the hotel model plan that they do change every 7 years. Every 4 years is best but 7 gives you a chance to save up money and you can update the look to follow trends.
Carpet is always the hardest to clean. I know it slows down skaters off the rink but I like old fashioned rinks that has no carpets at all. Those people have not gone back to see the new carpets they put down! The proof was right in the photos. They DID upgraded from nasty White carpet that you can easily see spots and the new Midnight Blue carpet with colorful black light carpets.
The plus sides.. I love the new carpet, the far-out cosmic themed showing stars, planets and shooting stars. Really wrap around the rink with this. It is an A+ with the murals. Sadly the rink is closed.
They had Bible verses on the walls. That was great. It was their ministry clearly. Was this run by a church?
The Square Footage for this place was massive 66,439. This is consider so large compared to the building. I think it was inflated in size to include the dealership behind. That was an error on Zillow for sure.
The Exterior.
It does give a very house feel on the exterior. It is a Gable and Valler or Cross Gable Roof Free-Span Steel Truss Cinder-block-Walled Commercial-like Building. Mostly in Light Gray colors. Looks like maybe you walk in a doctor's office or a R-store or more so, a church. But it is not. Its a roller rink. It does have a reverse L shaped floor plan with the main doors under a canopy. That part looked more like a church. Interesting design. Since they are not in business, a church should easily buy this but I do not know who owns it now. It looks abandoned and fenced because of a dealer next door took parking spot. It is Sad it has to be a car dealership.
On Google Map, for the 2 photos I compared as I was reviewing it. Did they have a fire? Part of the building has ply-boards up covering windows and doors just that corner part. The canopy right front of it is missing in newest photo. The fading red roof looked terrible that part. See photos. And the new concrete "driveway" goes directly to what I see is just a wall! A driveway without a garage! I know is funny but its not. I believe that part was a different business separately from the Skate Heaven complex. Did they close up because of the fire?
That extension with red roof does not match the styles of the rest of the complex. What was it there? Why was it build like that there? It looks like a house attached to the entertainment center. It does not match to the style you know?

I like to see a pic of the rink WITHOUT people on it or they are in background. I have the one that is with a little girl with her mother focused and centered in this only picture of the rink. Anyone has pics?
