Skate Country, 201 S River Ridge Cir Burnsville, MN
Skateville, 201 South River Ridge Circle, Burnsville, MN (Current)
Skate Country was one of the copy-cat rink that has nothing to do with the Tucsan, AZ Skate Country although the design is based on similar to Wendell Lockhard-based Skate Country of the original. This rink was built similar but as you can see with Skateville, it is updated however, the hints are there quite clearly.
One thing though, likely Skate Country had its run very briefly because Skateville says it first ran in 1972. Perhaps it was actually the one and the same because it is two generations of family owned rink.
Unless that statement is correct, I could be wrong with Skate Country. Anybody? I found this name and city but no street and only I could see the building itself looked very much like a Skate Country. So, I could not be wrong.
Because of the Lockhard-inspired design, currently as Skateville, it is Red shingles instead of stained shingles for roof that was common back in 1960s and 1970s at many locations (apartments, grocery stores, department stores, fast food restaurant, a Deaf state school dormitory, and more) had that then popular Mansard Roof look.
Typically a Skate Country would have a white stucco with Dark Stain Brown wood frames which brings that English Tudor look, But now as ongoing Skateville, it eliminated that traditional 70s look. The floor plan slightly differ though if you see the difference with the photo of Skateville compared to the other copycat rink in Rochester, MN.
It still has bricks though.
The interior has interesting and familiar colors at least for me. It has Lime Green with Royal Blue however, the center horizontal line appeared to be plum color. Interesting combination. They had cinderblock walls which is traditionally common at many rinks. It had Lime Green top with Royal Blue bottom.
It has that flashy entertainment themed carpet that are neon colors with swirls. Remind you this is Skateville. I have no idea what it was like prior to that rink. Of course the renovations.
They have Maple wood floor that has curves ends on the rink! Very unique. For sure this increases scoring for fans in that area to love this rink.
I do not have much information because no original photos for original rink.
