Both of Google Map. Noticed how the changes occurred? Very little. From dark trip to light trim but now it is all wild mural design on outside as it is inside due to renovations. Those two before the renovations in 2016-2017 on both inside and outside.

There were four rinks before the current version, Skate World Billings which is still operational. However, those four were in its place back then. One of them, interesting name: The Square Wheel. That is awkward because wheels are not squares! They are round! Must be an owner who is comic wanted to be funny with that name. Pretty catchy. Unfortunately for that one did not last. However, the name Skate in the four of five names remains and Skate World remained three of five. Likely the evolution of name was slowing down and slightly change.
Perhaps it was same owner? Perhaps it was because of easier to register at the court house to choose a name. You can register a name of business with slight differences. Like my design studio name is Falso Creativity in Onondaga County and there are at least three other Falso businesses in the same county and spells differently by adding second name to it. Same concept here with the Skate World.
Unfortunately, I do not have older photos before it became Skate World Billings. However, the modern transplant is really cool. I would give it a rating of 9.5 out of 10 if I was there. They have Maple wood floor as I can see quite clear on a painted floor with their rink name on the floor and it has permanently Roller Derby track lines on the rink. Beautiful Standard Blue and Lime Green paint with Polyurethane coat on it and does look thick which is good to protect this wood floor.
The walls really tells a story there. Beautiful murals. On one end shows a silhouette of a major unnamed city with the night sky looking like as it is peaceful with out any Batman light shining. Whew! Haha. It may have reflextions under black light but I do not see it since photos are showing with standard lights on, not off. However, another photo shows another section that shows neon reflections. That wall is quite clear and excellent in art work. On one part is a female skater in bell bottoms looking very 1970s on roller skates is a silhouette in reflective neon paint. It does look like neon lights on but it works with black lights. Many sections of other walls are in different colors.
Another part of the rink if you go to that rink, already a favorite of mine: An artist by the name of Jason Bourassa painted beautiful mural of a skate in airbrush style of painting but also on the concrete floor, you will see that already famous style of painting on concrete floor or sidewalk the stretched cracks open below or a lake or something. Well, this one looks like a broken floor and there is a galaxy-like or a wormhole like you would fall in but fear not. you are still on the floor, OK? Hee hee! Excellent job Jason! See it here: Jason Bourassa's art work at Skate World Billings.
Nice? I agree! Beautiful art work!
The old look was all exposed Red Brick the same as inside as outside. It was looking more like a NYC loft roller rink inside. And the entrance was on a angle. According to Google Map, the appearance was not standard rectangular but oddly shape.
The admission doors and window are on pretty odd path and was painted with that skate on the doors and the concrete floor the "crack" paint by Jason as I explained. The new paint covers the old NYC style loft brick walls.
The improvement was done in 2014. Apparently it was a rebooted rink that year in 2014. I do not have dates for all the rest of the rinks except for Skate World Billings which opened in September 12, 2014. I am not sure. That is according to their Facebook that still calls it "Skate World" without Billings added to it.
As for The Square Wheel rink, which had comic name was there before Skate World was. Clearly that helped me to pre-date the Skate World series of rink at the same location.
