Photos courtesy of Google Map. Noticed it was both names, Skate City and DJ's Fun City. Likely it was one and the same. Bottom picture taken in June 2014 and you will noticed yellow signs on the red building. That was a storage company before the current storage company occupies now. But look on the right, that was a batting cages as part of the rink. Now it sits as nothing there. Building still stands but not as functioning batting cages anymore.

Skate City 2248 Highway 171, De Ridder, LA was a bit hard to find on Google Map. It is toward south from the city, not north. Anyway, it was sold in 2010. Now a storage facility according to Google Map. It began with incorporated January 28, 1999.
It had both roller rink and batting cages. Also it has or rather had, 3/2 1500 SF home built inside the skating rink.
Martin M. Cates was the Operator / owner of this rink.
It was up for sale on Loop Net on August 25, 2009. Apparently the rink closed in 2009 because of the license revoked on May 15, 2008 according to Open Corporate website.
I believe Skate City was part of De Ridder's Fun City because overall, it was an entertainment center with two major activities-roller skating and batting cages. But I have no proof.
The Interior.
Besides the beautiful Clear coat of Polyurethane on Maple wood floor, it was Log Cabin layout as it is called. Thanks to many photographs of the storage facility that they just completed at the time and I can tell it has beautiful floor--all ruined because of nailed in for the dividers and all.
So, not much I can explain what it was like before it became storage facility.
The Exterior.
It was a very nice looking exterior that it was a Free-Span Steel Truss Red Brick and Cinder-block-Walled Store-front-like Building with Gable roof. Red walls and Bricks for the front and front half but the back half was just plain White. The Skate City sign was very simple and a little hard to read though. The storage facility has too busy with many signs on each side.
