Skate City 2913 Kiehl Ave. E., Sherwood, AR
Skate Connection 2913 Kiehl Ave. E., Sherwood, AR
Skate Connection 2913 Kiehl Ave. E., Sherwood, AR
Both Skate City and Skate Connection were connected by location at the same place at 2913 Kiehl Ave. East., Sherwood, Arkansas. First it was Skate City and then Skate Connection. They finally closed up in around 2013 according to Google Map. I have no other information regarding when they closed exactly and when they first opened and closed as Skate City as well.
It was sold in December 11, 2013 and it became an ACE Hardware Store. From what I see, it is exact same building as it was with Skate City / Skate Connection. It was just a redone on the front façade to make it look new. They did the work inside too. Perhaps Skate City opened up in 1977 when the building was built that year according to Realty Trac.
The price when they sold the entire building and business at the end of 2013 was 350,000 USD. Originally was selling rink business for merely 140,000 USD (2013).
Lot of holes here. Not much to go on.
The Interior.
The skating floor was age old Maple floor with the size of 75 F x 175 F x 2 1/4 Inch thick. They had 1200 pr of Riedel Skates, 12 Birthday Tables, 8 Plymold tables and a snack bar. They had Complete Sound System. The rink had a Bounce House, Skate Racks/ (slide), and a Lazer Tag / (LZ Storm)(20) with a wall of 75 F x 23 F high. Likely they had three characters on the wall as murals and they are: Panda Bear, Roller Roo, and Snoopy.
For utilities in the building - 3 Large - (3 ton and 5 ton) A/c outside units, 10 inch radio arm saw, with 2 generators portable, and 3 buffers as well as large fans.
The snack bar had Cotton Candy, Popcorn, Crispy Crisp, Microwave, refrigerator, freezer, tables, chairs, file cupboard, 6 televisions. Of course, the front office with admission.

The Exterior.
It was a simple Gable roofed Free-Span Steel Truss Warehouse - like Building. It is likely Bricks up front but rest was in Cinder-blocks. They had a mural and I could not see it well in Google Map. If anyone has a photo of it, I would like to see and add to this.
They renovated the exterior to exhibit a faux Colonial look for the hardware store.
