Courtesy of Google Map. Photo adjusted by Dead-Rinks. You can compare with Google Map original and you see how dark and depressing it was. Well, I brightened up and made more updated as much as I can. Sorry it is still a blur.
Courtesy of Skateworld Facebook Fans Group. Only good photo available. Sad, not many were there. Those orbs you saw in the picture? They are dust.
Courtesy of Skateworld Facebook Fans Group. Damages after a wind storm. It was done. In this photo, I can see what kind of arch. It was a Bow-Arch.

Skateworld 4696 Hanson Rd, Madisonville, KY
Originally Skate-A-Way Arena was located at 4696 Hanson Road, Madisonville, Kentucky but they closed and it became Skateworld. I do not have much history related to this but only I know so far that Skateworld was registered and opened in 1991 and closed as late as 2008 because of Google Map showed it was there however, the building disappeared in 2014. Something must have happened between 2008 and 2014. Anyone?
The building and the colorful graphics outside were very unique even the Google Map in 2007 and 2008 were terrible photographs and usually in dark gloomy cloudy days to do so or they would have glare in the photos.
Saturday March 3, 2012, a very high wind storm damaged two major buildings especially Skateworld received the most damages and their local high school's roof was pealed off as you can see in the PDF the photo shows how the roof was pealed like a banana skin was pealed off. This act like a foil was pealed off. But the damage was more done with the roof pealed off and rain water got inside the building.
It was not a tornado at all although it was a tornado season for the Midwest and Southern states. Even up North too (yes, I am writing this as we here are having a very strong wind storm!) Noticed the date. Quite spooky! I am writing this on March 2, 2021. The storm ended Skateworld on March 3rd, 2012. Look at the month, day, and the last 2 numbers of the years. This is The Twilight zone time. Haha. Note: I do not own the rights to the music theme, La quatrième dimension

The Interior.
The interior was interesting. It had a very basic black light colors on a white wall rather than black wall. The huge word, Skate World was painted on with many smaller fonts--the names of people. Perhaps they were staff names. I am not sure. Or the skaters themselves had their names written with paint on the wall. I have something done similar for a camp that has a memory wall with family and very close friends names on. I painted the mural of the camp name and a large cloud, and sky and the ground with some overgrown grass. Well, similar idea. Last year I see about a dozen or so names are on that mural after I painted plainly.
This means a memorial wall at Skateworld as I think. I am not sure.
The half wall had pyramidic top to prevent any one sitting on the walls like many rinks skaters do today. The half walls have a fading Red as trip while the center parts all along were Dark Red or Maroon color. That part appeared not to be faded at all. Big differences.
The ceiling.. I always love black aluminum trim grid with White panels. Very 1970s style to do so.
The star attraction-- the rink floor. It was Dark stained Maple wood. It appeared to be stained.
The Exterior.
It was one of those classic architecture of rinks with the Arched-Curve roof called, Segmental Arch. They had some extensions of the building which made it look more like a symbol of Omega in Greek/Latin language. Kind of.. sort of.. Basilica design. They even had even more extension where the front door was.
Beautiful colors. Very 1990s look. It had, starting with the bottom of the wall up, Kind of Dark Navy Ship Gray with a stripe more of a hint of Purplish Blue hue then Violet, then White. Thanks to the white cap truck to compare color. I know the photos are in poor quality from Google Map. Basically similar what you see that the building was damaged with the roof gone.
