Google Map. It showed it has Arched roof, very antiqued looking building. Now its a STEM school.
Skate-A-Rena, 1116 South Oak Street, La Crescent, MN
This rink had a History beginning in 1961 according to a newspaper that strangely showed up on search engine but no where to be found because when click to the link to a newspaper archives where that statement is from is showing newspaper archives from Wisconsin! Never mind them. So, I am using from Bizapedia website. On that website, they showed two of the rinks with same name. The other was being in Lawton, Oklahoma which is also closed.
Were they related? Who knows.
Well, for this La Crescent location, the rink was opened in 1961 according to the newspaper but Bizapedia it was opened in 1962 because it was filed on February 2, 1962. Unfortunately, I do not have much to go on but by observation on Google Map. But the address is now a STEM school on the grounds near a ICE rink which is sort of kitty corner in the back behind other buildings that is connected to the former roller rink.
The frontage of this cinderblock Arched roof building had sort of odd embossed roof line that is sort of Gable with partial Flat in middle on top of the roof.
I have no interior pictures of the former roller rink.
Now operates as a STEM school but also a clock and weather station company. Perhaps that is next door on the same property.
The rink was likely small according to the photo.
