Top two courtesy of Way Marketing. All Chalkboard Black with White fonts. Sign is easy to read alright but Chalkboard Black?
Courtesy of City Search. This shows how Chalkboard Black look on the building. Reminds me of that Black rectangular Monolith in 2001 Space Odyssey movie. Ohhhh!
Courtesy of Way Marketing. At night. I am not fond of that rock. Weird shape of it. Looks like flat top made for sacrifices.
Courtesy of Angie W. on Yelp. The main door.
Courtesy of Way Marketing. Sign during its heydays regarding roller hockey league. Bottom sign explains now as a storage facility. The lighted sign about the hockey league is still there on Google Map but no information on any skating. But the yellow sign is still there. Now the parking lot is half full of tractor tailors parked there. See next photo-Google Map shows what it is like now.
Sk8 Galaxy, 5437 Westwood Dr , St Charles, MO
Sk8 Galaxy which is also known as Skate Galaxy. Sk8 Galaxy was the name as shown on the sign outside of the building. This rink which has dark tone on the building. Chalkboard Black with Viberant Red stripe like on the front of the building facing the parking lot. Not the street.
It was established in 2003 by someone. I have no information on who started, operated, owned. and managed.
It lasted till 2014 according to Facebook. That Facebook page is still running but the rink is closed. Yelp said the same.
I do not have interior but only exterior. Just way too much photos of Roller Derby. Hardly see the background of the rink. So, I am not bothering with those. Anyone has photos of the rink interior? All I can see is had Sky Blue Concrete floor. The walls had very basic mural of shooting stars and a saturn-like planet in background in a photo. Clearly a galaxy themed interior. With the usual-planets, shooting stars, stars, etc. Purple railing. A lot of White on walls, ceiling, and Light Blue-White where the murals are. (not too dark as some other rinks have done theirs).
No information on why it is closed. Perhaps the floor cracked due to a Yelper stated that in 2014. Closed for safety reason. Now a storage facility with the name Sk8 Galaxy still in operation!
