Before the current rink namely Forrest Family Fun Center, it was Silver City Skateland at 1 Lawton Ave, Route 138 in Taunton, Massachusetts. However, the name Silver City is still around though, as Silver City Skate Club.
Eleanor Burke and her husband Joseph Burke were the Owners of the Silver City Skateland before the current owner, Forrest Welling who owns Forrest's Family Fun Center. Forrest purchased the former Silver City Skateland. Eleanor was the principal owner. She started in 2006 (BBB says file opened in 2006 but does not really mean date of open but for now it is 2006).
Before that, it was Silver City Sports Complex with BOTH ice and roller skating rinks according to the internet including Rink Time, Mass Live, Hot Frog, and more. Silver City Sports Complex began in 1986. That was an error by those websites because a gentleman who lived right by the rink can see from his bedroom that Silver City was operational from 1979 to 1985 (that is when he lived near the rink at the time.
If that was the case, those two rinks in that building you see in the photos are quite small. Perhaps with elimination of ice rink, the roller rink floor expanded.
Currently as Forrest's Family Fun Center, it is much better, cleaner, nicer, and much renovated better than what Silver City Sports Center was according to commenters. Forrest's scored high according to patrons that went to Forrest's because of much friendlier staff and the owner. Sounds like this is highly recommended for you to visit. Please click on the name and you can check out their website and you can go skating there! Please support Forrest and his rink.
UPDATE! -- 26 March 2022.
This is an email I received regarding to this rink and he has more information on the dates. That clears up more. Here is what he has to say --
For Silver City Skateland, you're showing it as having opened in 1986. I lived close enough to see and hear it from my bedroom window from 1979 to 1985 and it was open for most or perhaps all of that. Before that span of time, i think it was an ice rink, possibly even until maybe 1980 or 81.

Thank you C.R. for your information. This helps. Just an ice rink? Now I will need to investigate more. They may have added roller rink afterwards. Good to know and more questions. Anyone else know about it? Please let me know!
The Interior.
Originally two rinks in one huge warehouse like building, both ice and roller rinks but ever since Silver City Skateland, it became one rink-- just roller rink. It was heavily renovated into just a roller rink.
The original had more colorful walls, each section had a color. And at one end, it showed two skates. One pointing to the left, the other to the right. Huge oversized mural of those skates. Forrest painted that since when he bought the place in 2016, according to commenters on Trip Advisor, Silver City was dirty and terrible. Forrest, the owner totally renovated the facility into updated with fresh paints, new materials, washed carpet, things like that. Much better says commenters.
The colorful walls and Teal Blue wall with the large skates on were painted over to Black as it is Graying of America.
The Exterior.
The exterior was very much look like a warehouse when you drive by because you almost could not see the front door! The original in this Gable-Roof, Free-Span Steel Truss Blue Colored Steel-Walled Warehouse - like Building had their front door on the end facing the mini forest there that you almost could not see it! You would have to enter then drive around to see that. Their parking lot is a U shaped or a small case n shaped with the rink building in middle. It was terrible location. It had red canopy. Then new owner came in for Silver City Sports Complex, they improved by adding new front door that faces the front door and another door as well. It also had Red canopy with the name on it.
They literally cut open and made those doors. But they had that steel roll down to close the original doors on the side that faces the forest. Bit silly but they could have built with blocks to cut off that door and close it off or make that as a fire exit.
Then the Silver City Sports Complex went out of business in 2016 and Forrest removed the Red canopies and only he di not do is to paint the fading Blue as I can see in the photos. Would you like a mural there, Forrest? Please contact me! I am an artist and have done murals.
