Silver Spur Skating Rink 33 Roller Rink Rd, Cleveland, GA
First there was Shuckies Skating Rink then the more known Silver Spur Skating Rink. Again, never mind the addresses that they were 5 doors apart. They are actually on same spot.
I do not have much information on Shuckies and the Silver Spur except for when they had a huge fire just in January 2020.
There is also a mystery. The house including the rink and the 20 acres were sold in December 2019 only when January 3, 2020 there was a fire burning down the rink plus they had to evacuate 10 people from their residency there.
The 20 Acres property which is mostly trees had a house, rink, another shelter, and way back is a junk yard. I do not know why they had a fire right after it was sold. That makes it more suspicious. It was a total loss and they had a defensive fire operation when it is 100 percent entirely. But when the fire department got the alarm, it was about 80 percent. It was rapid fire.
Since I have no photos of the rink. Only the fire. It was a landmark according to multi-news outlet. They were not able to savage this landmark. Sounds like it was age old rink or building? Anyone? And photos?
Business side, I do not know the dates at all. Nothing but just the fire. Sad. It was already closed long before the fire anyhow because it became a storage facility for commercial equipment and personal vehicles that those residents owned. It was converted into a home as well.
Only Realty Trac tells me it was built in 1980. It might be for one of the building, not the main building where the rink was.
4,000 Square Feet is quite small. They say 20 percent is needed for resting area including snack bar, seating area, skate rental...That would account for 3200 Square Feet of rink, give or take. I do not know because I do not have any blue prints.
There are no parking lot according to the map but it was a long path directly from the road to the rink and was named as "Roller Rink Road."
Realtor.com had them listed as 1.164 Million Dollars. It is off market as of May 20, 2020.
The Interior.
N/A.
The Exterior.
It was Gable roofed building. I could not see what it was but had steel or aluminum roof sheeting on top. Too late now for photographs to take due to the fire. I had no idea what the place was like. Perhaps it was a steel-walled warehouse like building.
