Albion Roller Rink Albion, NE
Schoening Roller Rink Albion, NE
I found those two names in association somewhere and I did not keep the source. Lesson learned but I found more information about those two. Albion came around first and much older. But I have no dates of open and closed for that one or was it sold to the Schoening Family
Galen William Schoening and his parents, Henry R. and Zella (Ostrander) Schoening who just resettled in Albion, Nebraska and opened a furniture store, Schoening Store and nearby, a roller rink which was Schoening Roller Rink. They may have bought it from previous owner or start up. No information on this part. But they opened in 1947 and ran this till 1960. I have no idea what was the address because it can be more helpful. Anyone know where this was? Was those two rinks connected one way or another? Why closed?
As for the Albion Skating Rink, there was a very brief article saying a man went crazy at the rink and this controversy caused a woman to resign from her position at the rink. Wow, quite weird!
I need a lot of help on this one!
