S P Skateland 2930 8th Ave S, Fort Dodge, IA
S P Skateland was a rink in Fort Dodge that was closed in 2001. However, I do not have much information about it. That date was found in an article for another former rink that opened not too long ago that they abandoned the rink as well. It was Fort Frenzy Roller Rink that is now an entertainment center.
Anyway, it was registered on November 26, 1980. Likely opened in late 1980. Or early 1981.
The Interior.
Details are unknown.
The Exterior.
It was a Free Steel Span Steel sheet walls Warehouse building that housed the rink. It has a canopy with exposed beams and truss to support the canopy up front. It has Gable roof. Currently the building houses a printing company.
Original color is unknown. It might have been Van Gogh Sick Yellow color on the walls because it shows on the side of the building is still in that color in 2013.
