Ruidoso Skateland 2408 Sudderth Dr., Ruidoso, NM
Ruidoso Skateland was at 2408 Sudderth Drive, Ruidoso, New Mexico. This rink has no history on it but I found the list. It sits on a corner on a hill downslope to the back. It is this small countryside town. The town appeared to be very picturesque that you can visit. Beautiful forestry there, the mountains in background. If you search through Google Images, you will see how beautiful the town is. Something they should consider filming some Hallmark movies there. That is the kind of town. Cross the street, they have many small A-frame buildings set for offices, not a lodge or a Route 66 style motel. No. But anyway, they are presently now a bar and restaurant.
All I know this building is small but the real estate website only mentioned part of the building, not the entire building. So, I do not know how much square feet. But Realtor is saying, 4,759 Square Feet. That is way small. But I think it has to be a little bigger.
That is bit unusual to have a rink in this small space. I know of a rink in Tennessee or Kentucky I worked on a few months ago that its rink is so small, small as a living room! And yes, it was a roller rink out in a hidden gem of a valley. Anyway, the same applied here that it was quite small. That other place I think like 6,000 Square Feet but his one is under 5,000 Square Feet.
This bar down the hill has a mascot that are also used as logo. a Patterson Big Foot style Sasquatch. I thought New Mexico is usually associate with... UFOs? Not Big Foot. Big Foot is usually associated with All Coastal states from Washington to NorCal. Texas has both of them. But AZ and Nevada are strong UFO Belt as they are called.
I do not know what business on the ground floor up the hill above the bar. It might be where the rink was, not downstairs to be clear but I am talking a lot about this "dive" bar because the result for searching on this rink I get the one about the bar. It replaced the thirft store I believe.
The Interior.
N/A. Now it is a bar, a rustic looking bar and some pictures of Sasquatch (Big Foot) and the way it walks is quite a Patterson-Gimlin Big Foot walk. If you are into Big Foot, plenty of information out there and be sure to type in Patterson Big Foot and you will find tons of information and commenters as well as YouTube regarding the Big Foot. This site is not a paranormal related but history on roller rinks.
They changed entirely inside.
The Exterior.
It is a cute Gable roofed Wood- Trusses Three Coat Stucco-Walled Country-store like building that sits on a downslope to-the-rear that they have another business below and you have to enter below. I believe that is a Mexican take out. It is a Three-Coat Stucco exterior. It is a 2 x 6 Frame structure.
It appeared to be heavily renovated and updated.
