Rolling Thunder Skating and Family Fun Center 2225 Keith Parkway, Findlay, OH. Off the rink floor. I love the stars on the carpet! Not too busy! Well balanced than others I have seen far worst. I love that 1950s retro diner feel where the laminated checkered floor was and the dinettes. Also they had that neon light hidden up by the ceiling. When they had skating sessions, it really lit brighter. (photo not shown due to too many people in it. To see it, please check their Facebook page). Rolling Thunder Skating and Family Fun Center 2225 Keith Parkway, Findlay, OH. This showed their dark concrete floor at the old Findlay location. I love the wall and the color on the wall though! The roller floor could have had that blue. Oh well. Source: Rolling Thunder Skating and Family Fun Center Facebook page.
Rolling Thunder Skating and Family Fun Center 2225 Keith Parkway, Findlay, OH. This was taken during a Christmas season largely due to the Christmas colors, Christmas trees in the corner, and candy canes in background. Beautiful scene. Rolling Thunder Skating and Family Fun Center Tiffin Mall, Tiffin, OH. This is the new location before they started the renovation to convert into a roller rink. This photo was taken roughly the same spot where the next photo was taken. Please see the walls. You can see the matching look especially all glass view on the left side and that dark wall in the back of the photo. It is a match. Funny how the Maroon Red carpet parallel where the Log Cabin style wood floor layout is. And pretty much the same spot! Source: Rolling Thunder Skating and Family Fun Center Facebook page.
Rolling Thunder Skating and Family Fun Center Tiffin Mall, Tiffin, OH. This is the new location after they installed the new floor in 2020 but....stay tuned! Yeah, that was just merely a couple months old Maple floor that was ruined by a leaky pipe according to their Facebook page. Mum is the word due they are in court. Pray they can win in court and get new floor again and get their local skaters to skate. Please me know and I will be there! Source: Rolling Thunder Skating and Family Fun Center Facebook page.
Rolling Thunder Skating and Family Fun Center Tiffin Mall, Tiffin, OH. This is the map of the Tiffin Mall. They said it is permanently closed on Google search. Is it? Maybe that is why the owners of the rink and perhaps other businesses are in court. Lawsuit against the current mall owners? No, it is not Prime Retail Advisors. The red space is where the rink is supposed to be located. Please read this news article. Source: Mall in America.
Rolling Thunder Skating and Family Fun Center Tiffin Mall, Tiffin, OH. Sad announcement. Stay tuned, they will open. But for now, it is a "Coma Rink" Not trying to be funny here. Please support that rink and if you want to help, ask them. Source: Rolling Thunder Skating and Family Fun Center Facebook page.

Rolling Thunder Skating and Family Fun Center was a rink recently at Tiffin Center, Tiffin, Ohio. It was operational till January 5, 2021.
They announced their closure that day on Facebook. They opened in 2004.
DISCLAIMER: ONE THING BEFORE WE GO ON. IT IS ON PAUSE DUE TO LEGAL COMPLICATIONS AND THE SITUATION AT THE NEW LOCATION. This means they are not folded or closed permanently. Mostly about the former location and the new floor that was ruined just few months old! This PAGE copy will be located in ALIVE Rink page when they are active again. Thank you for understanding.
They underwent heavy renovation and new roof done in mid-2020. They also had to remove damaged floor in early 2020 due to a pipe broke and a fine mess not counting the Great Virus Outbreak of 2020 that forced lockdowns and delays. Because of this, they are not sure as of January 2021 if they are going to reopened. This is November 2021.. already more than 10 months since. So, it falls in to this classification as Dead-Rinks until they are reopened again. it was a cut pipe that cause the leakage.
You see, they just laid a fresh new hardwood Maple floor non-painted with Polyurethane coat on and just months later, the pipe leaked and damaged the rink area and I think from what they are saying, damaged other businesses in that mall including the Chinese restaurant but not related though. Skaters thought it was the roof but it was NOT the roof. It was the pipe. People wanted to get rid of that but they cannot because it is the law commercial buildings must have sprinklers. Want another Cocoanut Club Fire? I guess not. Want that illegal sweat shop fire that happened in NYC in 1900s or around 1910s? I guess not. Hundreds of victims were killed in both fires.
So, that is the problem. Always will worry ANY rink operators with that water sprinkers could leak or could put out a tiny fire but give entire place water damages. Not right. I know how you all feel. Me too. I want to design a non-water fire sprinklers that will only sense where the fire is and focus ON THAT SPOT only. And it works the same way as fire distinguisher. Just foams. After a fire, just clean it up by brushing. That is all ot it.
Now, I pray they can work out in court and get their rink operational again and because of lockdowns may have hurt some.
In meantime, this gets up because of 10 months of no communication regarding this rink to their patrons on Facebook. Their website goes to the wrong website. Facebook does that sometimes. It goes to some military website from New Jersey. Duh!
They were operational in the original location from the end of 2010 till 31 December 2018 in Findlay but they started the move in January 2019 to their new location in the mall.
Originally operated in Findlay for 8 years before relocating to Tiffin and the very slow transforming a former store into the skating rink that never opened due to water damages.
Tim Thwaits and his wife Lori are the owners of this rink.
Because of the legal situation and the leaks, mum is the word. They are not saying anything as I asked them politely. They will reopen soon. Hopefully. We will see because the mall itself is a dead mall where the rink is currently located.
The Interior.
Beautiful Maple wood floor that was non-colored, Polyurethane coated but water damages just merely like 3 months later. They did renovations but were stuck due to fighting with insurance company and or with the landlord of the mall for the water damages. Insurance not always will give enough money as they promised you when you first sign up. They never do. They should honor it and there should be a law to state what the government says. Too bad to insurance companies. Follow the law! Or be suspended and arrested and charges against the insurance company and owners of the insurance company and staff. How you feel about that? HUH?
Then pay up to the rink to get it fix so I can get this profile moved to the ALIVE RINK! Plus you are going to continue to pay monthly by paying for its survival. Like arena, sports stadiums, etc. have sponsors' names. I doubt it because Google search said it is permanently closed.
Findlay location - It was a very interesting location. Small with just 14,000 Square Feet with Painted Blue with Yellow Centered Concrete floor with very 1990s feel interior. The floor was laminated with Blue and White Checkers which enchanted it more like a diner after all. .
