The former Rollin' R Roller Rink is now Antique depot. You can spot easily that it was covered up the original appearance of the rink and they added a lot of things. Can you spot a big foot in this one? Yes, The statue of "Patty" the Big Foot in its famous pose as seen in the Patterson-Gimlin 16mm film that those two saw on October 20, 1967. Was she for real or what? You decide after seeing this website: Patterson Big Foot.
Rollin' R Roller Rink 2196 W Rogers Blvd, Skiatook, OK
Let not this name confused with the other two similar names to this one. This one was owned and operated by Chester and Jeannie Reyckert on 2196 Will Rogers Boulevard, Skiatook, Oklahoma. They began this rink, Rollin' R Roller Rink in 1978 as roller skating was at peak.
They ended in 1995. Perhaps because of downturn of roller skating in the mid 1990s. They could have waited. But that was almost 20 years of operating it. The owners are serial entrepreneurs that they owned several businesses.
Today the former rink is now an antique shop. Looks much better looking antique shop I have seen on Dead-Rinks because several rinks turned into antique shop or flea market. This looks higher quality antique shop. Right next to the Skiatook Statuary. That is, a statue and sculpture store. Maybe for your garden, your grave, or something to look nice or for some fans, maybe a Patterson Bigfoot. Yes, on Google Map, the street level showed there is a statue of larger than life bigfoot that acted and walked like the Patterson Bigfoot seen on the 16 mm film back in 1967 that Patterson and Gimlin filmed.
The Interior.
N/A.
The Exterior.
It was a Free-Span Steel Trusses Steel-Walled Warehouse - like Building with Gable Roof with a stone wall base on the bottom. It had large lettering with so much spacing in between them. It was simple design. Currently as an Antique store, they put up rustic wood to make it look like a general post store with a awing from corner to corner with a deck porch up front. I compared to the original look and the look on Google Map you can see the evidence of the old rink look by seeing where the front door is and the stone wall below the sidewalk because it is not even with the parking lot.
The 3.33 acres property is shared with the statuary store with at least a couple of thousands of statues, decorative materials for outdoors. Yes, even with that "Patty" statue as known as Patterson Big Foot with the famous 352 frame of the Patterson-Gimlin film of that fateful day of October 20, 1967 looked back because of the horses got riled because of the presence of Big Foot. That famous look back struck on minds of people and people made statues and pictures of Patty looking back. It stands in between the statuary and the former rink locations.
The original color of the rink wall outside might be Sunburst Yellow.
