All 4 courtesy of Google Map. From top to bottom-- 2007, 2013, 2016, and January 2019. First one you see was a church, then the next one just the daycare. Then final two are both day care and the event center. They split the usage of the building. The difference between 2016 and 2019 is their new black metal mailbox replacing old wood covered metal mailbox. Also they entrenched their sign in 2018 (not pictured).
Rollertrackers 10910 Maumelle Blvd, North Little Rock, AR
Rollertrackers was a skating rink at one time long time ago. Currently it is the site for Maumelle Event Center and shared with a day care. At one time also was a church.
This place on 10910 Maumelle Boulevard in North Little Rock, Arkansas is truly seen many different venues or businesses at this site that has a Gable roof Steel Sheet metal walled warehouse-like building with a huge high canopy over the main doors to enter the building.
There is a bowling alley behind the former rink which is practically next door.
First I think the rink went out of business around 2000 then the church bought it in early 2000s but they put up for sale. I think they closed that church to focus on their other daughter churches around greater Little Rock area because there are none near this location if they were to relocate to larger place but no.
They put the place up for sale as seen on Loop Net and I found on Zilliow that it was valued of 1.2 Million Dollars. Woo! Expensive for 2009/2010. They sold it in 2010.
Why would they sell the building and the church closed that one. It is leaving a hole in that area for church members who live that way.
I know that many people left churches and/or not giving enough offering that has to cover the expenses to operate a church. In a 1995 church directory and guidebook that I have (they dont make new ones anymore), and they said average that year people gave offering an average of 1 US Dollar per person. Not enough. Many churches started to fold in late 1990s as people were leaving churches and not donating money either.
That is real sad. I am not just talking about skating, I am talking about churches too. It is sad. That is a whole another subject. Not only people are not going. It is because they are forced to work on Sundays too. Have you seen your local retail, grocery stores, restaurants, etc. Never mind about Pandemic is happening out there. I am talking about look at the past 30 to 50 years of how retail are doing. And cell phones and computers too have affected people to say home even back in year 2000!
Anyone know about Rollertrackers skating rink? it was listed under SkatingFitness. Likely list is from 1990s.
This could be the dates. This is from Zillow--
3/10/1998 Sold $115,000
Source: Public Record
(Likely sold to the skating rink)
12/27/2002 Sold $700,000 (+508.7%)
Source: Public Record
(Likely sold to church)
(09/24/2008 Last Updated/sold: 08/29/2011-- Loop Net;)
(Sold to Little Scholars)
9/1/2016 Sold $1,150,000 (+64.3%)
Source: Public Record
(Sold to Maumelle Event Center and Little Scholars still operational at same location but reduced size)
Then my math tells me that the Rollertrackers were in business likely from March 10, 1998 to December 27, 2002. Then New Life Church from 2002 to 2016 when they sold it to the current owners of the day care and event center.
Although the building is 17,500 Square Feet, the event center only uses 6,000 Square Feet for their awesome events as seen in their gallery on their website.
The Interior.
N/A.
The Exterior.
It is a tall Free-Span Steel Truss Steel-Walled Warehouse - like Building with a high big canopy over the front doors in the middle of the front which is facing the boulevard. But it is on the side because the entrance is on the side. Ever since it has Very Light Gray colored sheets on the wall. The horizontal stripes was in Gray but the later years when it became a day care and the event center, it was painted in Lime Green.
Pretty much exterior did not change much. I do not know where the original sign was. Google Map only goes far back as 2007 and that was when the New Life Church was housed there.
