Roller World, Henryetta, Oklahoma. One time a stage theater from 1914 to 1956. This rink came around 1960s to 2000s. This is the rear part of the rink. You may have wondered about how narrow or possible to have a rink. This is your answer to them that they had a big building connecting to the front plaza ON the side You can see the telephone pole where the wire coming from the right of the screen toward the left. That black post. OK, just behind that post. Are my eyes ok? Yes, I am seeing those 2 blue tanks vibrate! It is no way to be a "Dancing Man" balloon that places do have. No, it is blue tanks I believe but why vibrate? Truly mystery here! Source: Google Map.

Skate World 316 W. Main Street, Henryetta, OK(?)
Skate World 316 W. Main Street, Henryetta, OK(?)
Both worlds... Roller World and Skate World were rink brands at 316 West Main Street, Henryetta, Oklahoma. But I am not sure if it was Skate World but that is what I got from my lists. Roller World is only name with an evident. a photograph was seen on Cinemas Tour.
It has a wealth of history at this location. Like some theaters, they are usually around long before it is converted to a roller rink.
First it was opened in 1914 as a stage theater with 836 seats named Morgan Theater. Then the theater closed in 1956. The stage was then removed. Then it became a repair shop then it became a roller rink, Roller World. Then it is now a storage for a construction company.
Roller World opened sometimes after 1956, maybe 1960s or 1970s but they were closed by mid 2000s thanks to that photograph and Google Map to compare. The fonts for this rink gave away that it was almost Moranga style font which dates back to 1960s/70s. It even had an earth or globe as part of their logo replacing the O in World.
The Interior.
Having no photo, I believe it may have non-paint, Maple wood floor for a rink in the bigger building while the main plaza building where the rink was, was the entrance part. The balcony is still there.
The Exterior.
The rink was in a former stage theater in-town shopping plaza. It was easily marked with the Gable style canopy in front It may have been remodeled for the rink because theaters usually have a marquee on top of the doors. This one was quite narrow and skaters would have to walk toward the back to a larger Gable roof Free-Span Steel Trusses Deep Red Brick Bricks-Walled Warehouse - like Building.. It was an L shape floor plan. The Roller World had Black steel wall above where the canopy is and the rest were Dark Red Brick Bricks which looked aged. Yes, it was built in 1914 which confirm the style of bricks to be dark.
