Paradise Skate 1201 West 10th Street, Antioch, CA . Logo of Paradise Skate. I am sorry I do not have any logo of Roller Haven at this present time. I love that Paradise theme! The font looks familiar but cannot place the name. It is 1950s font really. Courtesy of Paradise Skate.
Paradise Skate 1201 West 10th Street, Antioch, CA. This was in happier days. Taken in 2011 with more newer mural seen on the wall for easier to see. Taken by Google Mapper. Courtesy of Google Maps.
Paradise Skate 1201 West 10th Street, Antioch, CA. New Year's Day 1 January 2023. Now, that was a sad day. Six inches flooded the inside of the rink. Did the flood float away that green recycle bin that was seen in the 2011 photo? Yes, the 2019 photo on Google Map still have that bin there. If so, wow, that was a lot of buoyance for that recycle bin to float away. Oh wait, it did float away from its position. It is found by the wall of the rink building by the right side. And the top for the recycle bin is also floating in background. You can see them in the photo. Courtesy of Silicon Valley.
Paradise Skate 1201 West 10th Street, Antioch, CA. New Year's Day 1 January 2023. Now, that was a sad day. Six inches flooded the inside of the rink. You can see the flooded floor looked so blurry on their beautiful customized Paradise Skate Black Light Carpet. "Oh the pain. the pain!" as Dr. Smith would say. No worries, all new again last April 2023! Courtesy of Silicon Valley.
Paradise Skate 1201 West 10th Street, Antioch, CA. New Year's Day 1 January 2023. Bob, the manager of the rink demonstrate to show how warped the floor was so you can see that 2 x 4 lay even. It is terribly sad however, see next photo! Courtesy of Silicon Valley.
Paradise Skate 1201 West 10th Street, Antioch, CA. Around April 2023. All new floor! That was fast to replace. Seemly supply are getting back to normal. And the logo is also laid on the rink floor! This is beautiful floor. Shining Polyurethane coated White Hardwood Maple. It has Fan layout with Roller Derby outlines seen in the photo above. Courtesy of Paradise Skate.
Paradise Skate 1201 West 10th Street, Antioch, CA. I like what I see in this photo. Several things. Of course, the name of the store is The Treasure Chest. Very catchy, creative. And different than the 4000 rinks, so far, that I see it says, "Pro-Shop" and they have no creativity. Well, this one sure did! I give them creativity award for this. And second of all, you can spot a wood carved skate toward the left of the photo. Courtesy of Paradise Skate.
Paradise Skate 1201 West 10th Street, Antioch, CA. You can see the management team discussion as the rink was being repaired after the flood. The Maple wood floor was torn out last January. You can see the Tropical theme. Johnny Castaway would love this place! Haha. Courtesy of Paradise Skate.

Originally it was Roller Haven which was on 1201 West 10th Street in Antioch, California where the Contra Costa County Fairgrounds is located. Later it became Paradise Cove Rink / Paradise Skate. Both Paradise Cove Rink and Paradise Skate are as-known-as.
Roller Haven began its roller skating in 1969 when Dave Narro established the rink but closed near 2008. In 2008, Jeff Warrenburg purchased everything and reopened as Paradise Skate roller rink. Now for the first time ever, Jeff in 2012, put in a real maple wood skate floor.
Bob Bruce is currently manager of Paradise Skate.
The rink was forced to close due to the flood that occurred on 31 December 2022-- New Year's Eve. This is why you should look at the photo and see the New Years' Eve balloon drop on the ceiling ready to drop but the flood got to the rink so fast that Jeff, Bob, and the staff were unable to race to save the rink. The water found its way in and caused six inches flooding inside.
They reopened sometime around April-ish 2023. I saw on their website that they are operational as of 12 June 2023. Welcome Back Jeff Warrenburg and Paradise Skate! Good you recover quickly amid the supply shortage, staff shortage, and staff who can rebuilt the rink. It is a beautiful Rink!
The Interior.
Roller Haven: I do not know what the appearance however, it was NOT Maple wood floor according to Jeff Warrenberg (as seen on Yelp).
Paradise Cove Rink: The owner/operator Jeff Warrenberg of Paradise Skate said he put in real Hardwood Maple wood floor that lasted from 2012 to 31 December 2022 when the flood destroyed the floor and had to rebuilt with new floor. This is without any insurance money since he was in transition to a different insurance company at the time.
Originally it was a wooden floor. It was ruined in 2009. But in 2012, new Hardwood Maple floor was lay down that had clear coated Polyurethane. That was sad it lasted 10 years for the Maple wood floor that was supposed to on that floor for another 40 years. Unfortunately, they could not save that floor in time with that flash flood.
The theme there has a lot of blues.. Reminded me of a couple of tropical themed roller rinks with blueness on the walls and stuff. Really beautiful. The wood floor would represents the beachy sand that has similar color to the Maple wood studs. Pretty neat right? Wood and glass. Yeah. Yes, that is how we get our windows because of windows are made of sands!
Paradise Skate: Same as "Paradise Cove". See above. It is a beautiful floor now that they put in over the winter of 2023 (Around January 2023 to March, April 2023).
The Exterior.
Roller Haven: Without that mural as you can see those pictures. The Gabled roof Cinderblock building was built in 1969 but I think it went further back by the look of the architecture. Of course, it is in the county fairgrounds.
Paradise Cove Rink: The appearance was painted over and had mural of the Tropical theme with palm trees. Just a Palm Tree and small sand island.. just like Johnny Castaway. the famous screen saver character that was released in 1992 when computer monitors were analog. That was the world's first screen saver storytelling. I sure missed him. Do you?
Paradise Skate: Same as above.

Dead Rinks is now International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© because many former names have become new names at the same rinks that are still active and due to much confusion, We have decided that International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© fits better for all rinks including defunct, closed, inactive, rebooted, and rinks that are still active today. For short on this site, it is International Roller Skating Rinks History© Bear with us as we change the entire site page by page each day. Thank you for understanding.

Rinks that are closed are considered dead. Rinks that are/were sold and with new management names new name(s), the former are considered dead. Previous operating rink that closed but came back years later, are considered dead because the reopening is considered rebooted, nothing to do with the former. Since we are rebooted to allow alive rinks, active rinks, we welcome those active rinks as well. It will be described.
