Originally was Roller Express followed by Tri County Roller Arena. Now, it is Roll Arena Party Zone. Located at 1215 East Tri County Boulevard, Oliver Springs, Tennessee.
The names they provided both Tri County Roller Arena and Roll Arena Party Zone is quite confusing. They are using not one but TWO names for this rink in Oliver Springs. Why use both? The sign for Tri County Roller Arena was up outside until it was replaced with Roll Arena as seen on Google Map. Please check them out at Google Map. That would be the May 2018. However, check here in Google Map in 2014. Hmm.. Why using two names, Roll Arena Party Zone? Your Facebook is still operational as Tri County but your sign on Google Map is now Roll Arena. Confusing. Please choose one so that your customers can know you are operational and say the right legal name, not another name. It is like calling McDonalds Burger King but really its McDonalds or Roller Blades when it is really Inlines Skates. Xerox when it is really photocopier or photocopying (in correct grammar when in use in a sentence. You get the idea. You also are making my work difficult, you know that, Roll Arena Party Zone/Tri County Roller Arena?
On January 1, 1980, the property, perhaps not the building was sold for 23 Thousand USD. Cheap if it was with the building however, I think it was the commercial property sold that time without the building.
It leaves a mystery. Dates of operations for Roller Express? I could not find any. Same with Tri County Roller Arena. But only Roll Arena Party Zone is still operational.
The Interior.
They have Blue-Gray Concrete floor with Roller Derby layout. They have eating area separated from the rink with the wall and windows. It does not give that inclusive feeling because of that separation.
The carpet at the time were Brown throughout the rest of the building.
The Exterior.
It is a Free-Span Steel Truss Steel-Walled Warehouse - like Building with Gable roof. The original Roller Express appearance is unknown however, with Tri County rink, it was Bleached Jeans Blue on Steel walls. They painted in Fresh Rich Royal Blue in 2016 which made the place looked brand new. Now, that is how I find that rink attractive with the appearance they did with the paint.
I am not sure, but was that a playground or something on the far end on the right side of the front of the building? The main entrance is on the left side. This design is quite similar to a couple of rinks in the immediate area including a dead-rink in Tennessee.
The Stats:
Rink Size: N/A. Floor: Blue-Gray Concrete. Floor Layout: Standard.
Building Size: 15,840 SF. Built: 1981. Demolished: Still Standing.
Type of Building: Free-Span Steel Truss Steel-Walled Warehouse - like Building.
