Google Map. Looks like they were already closed for good before April 2012. Did they? When?!

Roller Country Skating Rink, 4901 Kochs Lane, Quincy, IL
This rink had a familiar name and appearance to another rink. Called Skate Country. (Take your pick, the Tucson, AZ original rink chain, or the spin-off/copycat chain of Iowa). It did have the architectural appearance similar to none other than Wendell Lockhard inspired design that other Skate Country rinks have. Especially the original. This design set the standard for many rinks around the country of the 1970s look. See comparison with the original Skate Country of Tucson, AZ.
The rink itself has Concrete floor, the standard for all Skate Country (of both business owners plus this rink.
The half-walls had very familiar and popular colors of the 70s. Empire Skates East had similar colors so are a few other rinks had same colors. Kelly Green and Royal Blue. The rest interior were likely painted all white for the preparation to set up for sale. Usually when you sell a business or a home, you have to paint to plain ol White everywhere. (I personally not like it!)...
They even had that Popular Red Skate cart with the name of the rink on just like many other rinks had.
The rink was in operation from 1976 to Unknown. I tried to find out when. I am waiting to hear back from the former rink manager's son regarding this rink's history.
