Skate 403 Main St, Dakota City, IA
Roller Country 403 Main St, Dakota City, IA
Roller Country was another franchise but this was likely under the Iowa chain ownership, not the Arizona chain. But before that, they were called, "Skate" as in just "Skate". They added "Country" perhaps when they were acquired into the Skate Country Franchise.
However, from what I see on Google Map, the rink itself was in a main street style brick building that has two storys/stories. It was on, ironically called Main Street! Roller country was on first floor I believe. There is not much information architecturally in that regard except for a Google Map. The rink ran from 1998 to 2013 when they went out of business according to their Facebook. They originally had one but they lost their account for some reason. Perhaps was hacked. But this time they had a new one but it was totally off the subject with the new one. They have bunch of passwords and codes on their Facebook page! To me that was bit too far. Why passwords? Anyone?
The Interior.
The interior is unknown.
The Exterior.
The exterior was a typical main street appearance and it was sort of mixed match look. At least three different style bricks were used. All not matched. And two boarded up windows. A pretty difficult-to-see sign saying Skate Country.
The second floor has a row of small hung-windows.
In the 2009 photo, it had two exact same signs outside on the wall but I could not read what it says but on the window it did have the name of the rink. The 2013 version shows only the name of the rink but no signs on the boarded up wood. By the look, it may have had a small rink.
They renovated the frontage to more plain design with Tan Steel metal sheets and eliminated quite a bit of first floor windows. Eliminated the front-side door that was perhaps for second floor. But removed the boards and restored those two as windows and eliminated the third window that was where the name Skate Country was on. See photos on top.
