All photos above of Google Map. Noticed antiqued style sign with modern sign? See the aerial view of the rink that houses where the rink was. And where the snack bar, rental, bathrooms, etc used to be. Clearly.
Bottom two photos courtesy of patrons of Full Ride Sports Complex on Yelp. You can tell where the rink used to be and what the walls, ceiling, and the Trusses are like. never mind the Astro-Turf. That was where the Rink used to be. Was it concrete or wood before conversion? Now the Sanctuary is located on the former rink.
Rollarena, 2604 Paris Rd., Columbia, MO
This rink was another rink in Columbia, Missouri. I do not have much information regarding that rink and name because it became Full Ride Sport's Complex or Full Ride Sports Complex as well as Heart Of America Athletic Training Center. Now it is a church currently occupied that location.
That property is leased and as the date on Loopnet, it was first leased in on June 19, 2017 and apparently no longer available by January 18, 2019. That is when this Christian church is located. Apparently it changed hands often at that location. There is no other information about the rink itself because the search came up on my computer several names. Four different businesses/church are listed. Apparently Anthem Church occupied just this year in 2019.
The rink building apparently looked modern with wrap around awing-like on front corners of the building with flat roof but it is actually a gable-roofed building. The original colors are unknown but the Heart of America Athletic Training Center was the last tenant before Anthem Church is located. This is interesting because I have counted two rinks becoming a non-denomination Christian churches in Missouri alone. Apparently, praise God, Christianity is growing and sadly, rinks are becoming more rare.
The front door was on the right side corner (as seen from the street). It had a partial classic sign that could be antiqued while the rest of the sign is modern. A mix that does not look good together. Apparently the rink's sign may have been a neon light sign or a flashing sign like a Vegas or the old Holiday Inn sign. Go figure. The new sign has that arrow but a rectangle light box. Going from physical exercises to spiritual exercises. (So far three or four churches now occupy former rinks--so far on my list).
Therefore the rink may have been around say 1980s to 1990s. It is possible the rink was from that era because of the sports center were popping up around the country in 1990s on. I have no data regarding the rink's opening and closing and why they closed plus the rink size. The rink floor may have been gone because of sporting centers used the facility and now, a church is using it as a theater seating format. Loopnet says it was built in 1980.
The interior based on Full Ride Sports Complex, they had batting cages on where the rink used to be. I see it was concrete floor. And it is Pewter-ish color on the floor and covered with Astro-Turf.
They have exposed steel trusses to support. Apparently the rink was bit narrower than the building itself for the safety of skaters not to hit into the Truss posts on each side. Remember, this is educated guess because I have no photos of the rink itself.
Interesting that this street has a fair walking score of 42 points. It does have sidewalks on that pretty busy main road for that area.
