Top three courtesy of Google Map. Bottom of those top 3 showed exactly the address! Why the differences? Which one will stand up please!
Bottom four courtesy of Zillow.com real estate website. Bottom picture showed it had a line goes right to the wall! Was it much wider in the past? Perhaps because of the snack bar benches in Salmon color looked brand new and so were the carpetiles. The Hockey Rink White walls with Cautious Rink Yellow were shown here because of their hockey team. The rink looks ice but it was not. It was truly ROLLER rink. I give you clue, look at the name below.
Roll-O-Rama Skate Center, 300 N 39th St, Bethany, MO
(Many says it is 105 North 39th Street, Bethany, MO)
This was one of the two Roll-O-Rama and both are closed. This one was opened in 1984. Not much information regarding business sense and hardly any photos of the rink itself at all, unfortunately. It does have a Facebook page but no photos from the owner. No banner. But just fans posted theirs from the time. There is a confusion. It will say 105 North 39th Street on many links however, Google says otherwise. It said 300 North 39th because across the street from the former rink is a Chinese take out and I was able to verify their address as 302 North 39th Street. Therefore, people must have put the wrong address on everything!
The rink was opened in 1984 but the last building they used at this address was built in 2001. Did they had a fire? Or did they move to their final location?
Good thing I captured the rink image on the outside in Google Map before it is being updated. It was a Grey Metallic building with hard-to-see logo sign on the building. It appeared to be real close to the road though. I am referring to the building!
The rink, however, I was able to see the background of the photos with people in it. As typical, I usually post photos of the rink, building, and sections but not people. What I can tell you was that it had Sky Blue Concrete with Epoxy coating to protect the rink. It had cinder block half-walls around the rink. It had that hockey rink look around it.
The interior apparently had standard Hockey Rink size and appearance but I cannot verify that size. They had carpet squares on the floor off the rink. Carpetiles as they are called. And muted colors, of course. The walls were standard Hockey Rink White and Rink Caution Yellow trim. It had exposed stee truss looked like it was unfinished modeling in that place.
I do not have much information unfortunately so it ends here until I get more from skaters and former owners and managers. Needs photos of interior, size of rink and building, exactly when opened, and closed.
Currently a fitness center.
