Earliest photo of Google Map (2007). Empty property where the Riverside Roller Rink used to be at the 305 East North Ave. Demolished.
Riverside Roller Rink, (tent), Milwaukee, WI
Riverside Roller Rink, 305 E. North Ave., Milwaukee, WI (New home)
Riverside had a long history and had humble beginnings. It started out with a tent in year 1900. In 1909, they had new home. It was located at 305 East North Avenue in Milwaukee. Sadly, the building had a fire in 1929 but quickly replaced that year and continued to operate till its demise in 1961. 61 years of operations!
Apparently the building was demolished because it was nearly 60 years since 1961 the year they closed for good. Google Map only can show me far back as 2007, the year they started to map. Oh well. So, what we can see is open grass field now. It was on a corner. Apparently the rink might have been small and had street parking to give more room. A storefront style building for sure.
I have no photos so I have no ideas. I looked. Right now, an empty property.
