Both photos courtesy of Google Map. The exterior. Both were taken in 2012.
All three courtesy of Phil W./Galaxie Skate Center. My, busy and packed rink of lately! Doing well! I recommend you and other skaters to go there! Beautiful Maple floor, very clean looking and nicely done interior. And Oh! look at that large pizza! Looks like well enough cheese on it. From what I see, truly homemade shell I can tell. Too bad I do not have a picture of their fish dinner to show! When I am visiting this rink, hopefully, I will be sure to have fish dinner and take picture of it for you to see!

This rink was likely the actual first rink at that location before Galaxie Skate Center. Originally I found the address was likely the homeowner's address on Bizapedia but please ignore that and do not bother the owner because two reasons: This was long ago and sold the business. Second, at that address, it might be different owner of that house currently. So, please respect!
Actually the original name of the rink registered with the county is called, Richland Roller Rink, Inc.
Now, back to the rink. Thanks to the Facebook on Richland Center RR, I got the correct address and checked Google Map and that surprised me that the rink was the same location for Galaxy/Galaxie.
To see the description of those rinks, plesae click Galaxy Skate Center.
It is a two twin building with gable roof. It looks very warehouse like with sheets of steel for walls. Original color I am not sure. However, the main doors is actually in the back. The front is in the back and the back up front. It sits on a corner. The homeowner was living just a walking distance of same block around the bend of the street.
Anyway, there are no photos from Richland Center Roller Rink because it is not recently. It was established on March 5, 1986 and ran from that year till God knows when. When I have more information, the current Galaxie Skate Center.
However, on September 26, 1990, the same owner, Lee Clarson rebooted the company as Richland Fun Center.
Likely the layout was the same as it became Richland Fun Center and the Galaxy Skate Center and beyond. Four lives of those rinks. 5 more to go like a cat has 9 lives. Since I have no photos of Richland Center, I must guess the low ceiling was easily noticed because of the building were not that high.
Apparently with all the rinks at same location it was a good location.
UPDATE: The spelling for Galaxy Skate Center is wrong. Google tend to make you get that instead of Galaxie. Thanks Phil! Phil is the owner of Galaxie Skate Center. It is designed to separate the two so not to be confused. We apologize for the confusion and inconveniences.
From what I see and thanks to Phil, their Galaxie Skate Center is thriving! Even in post-COVID lockdown era. It shows proof that roller skating is making comeback. According to a skater on Facebook I know, he said they are up 300 percent. And yes, stores are having shortage of skates to sell. And the rink. This is perfect example that this rink is doing well and a good role model for rink business owners everywhere.
From what I see the interior, it is beautiful.
Phil W. is the owner of this rink. The website is in the 4xx group of errors. Maybe you need to fix your errors, Phil.
Interior.
The interior is well beautifully designed. So focused on interior rather than exterior. Having said because of the location is at a dead end street and the neighborhood are mostly residential. So, hence, those very same living in the same neighborhood are frequent skaters. Faithful skaters.
Now, the interior has beautiful shining "Million Dollar" Maple floor. Very well taken care of as I can see in the photos. This is why I recommend skaters like to skate there. One of those days, LORD willing, I will be able to go there and skate. For sure they are going to receive high remarks in Alive Rink section of Dead-Rink website. I see so many happy faces there on the website and on his email he send me. Positive owner makes everyone feel positive!
And the ceiling is 12 feet high with titles to have better temperature control inside. What even great is that they have a Class 2 Restaurant concessions area, with Their own homemade pizzas and a menu that surpasses most rinks (even have Friday Night Fish Dinners).
Wow, fish dinners!? I am there! No rinks I know of so far has this menu! Homemade. awesome! This should be in the Alive Rink section although I have not been there and only will be there when I am visiting the rink. This rink I would say and is going to be on my bucket list of rinks to visit when I do not need that silly face mask. This is excellent menu! Fish! Very healthy! It belongs to a rink because rinks are more of a fitness center than just recreational because it is a work out skating.
And homemade pizza. Sounds great! for sure, I am going to taste them and eat them! Skaters please go to Galaxie Skate Center in Richland!
On to other things, the carpet is glow carpet. It has galaxies on it with planets and stars. Truly matched to the style they have for their theme. It gives the feeling as "far out of this world" at this rink. This is the vibe I am felling from this rink.
A restaurant with a rink, not a snack bar with a rink. a restaurant. Excellent place for dates. Eat and skate at same place rather than eat else where.
Exterior.
Very simple two Gabled roof Steel Trussed free-span buildings. Both parts as whole with two toned Gray colored Steel sheet metal walls. Nothing fancy on outside. This is why they focus on the interior where the investment is correctly involved. It sheltered around beautiful forestry behind it. The front door is facing the forest and parking lot, not elsewhere to face on the street.
