Reggie's Rink, Winona, MN
Not much to say about Reggie's Rink that was in Winona, Minnesota. It was a rink that ran around 1940s and 1950s according to a few Billboard magazines. There was in fact a for sale ad in The June 25, 1949 issue of Billboard. It was on page 77, 4th column. Several rinks were for sale which looked like an uptick of sales around that year. A cycle not seen again till Rinksider mentioned in 1980s. And beyond.
This rink did not say where in town and I have no idea what street. Anybody? Second of all, it did say the size of the rink. 52 feet X 125 feet which was rather small. Almost half of the size of a standard NHL hockey rink format.
The rink itself had Hard Maple wood floor at the time just a year old. Perhaps it was just opened? Or re-surfaced to replace aging Maple floor? I could not find any information regarding that rink. Only I found the name originally in articles in Billboards throughout mid-1950s Billboard magazines just listing them as members of an association several times but no other information specifically. Except for that ad I found. Only the ad is shown here.
In 1949 at the time of for sale, M.C. St. John owned and operated as manager.
