Ice Cap 2 Oesterling Dr, Reading, PA
Reading Skate Center 2 Oesterling Drive, Reading, Pennsylvania was once a rink. But no information to indicate it was a roller rink or an ice rink because Ice Cap was once an ice rink at the same location. I searched and no information. Right now, it is McCarthy Tire Services. The building I see on Google Map points likely it was a rink after all in this All Sheet Metal Walled- Warehouse - like.
No dates are given. Only that the building was built in 2001 according to Re/Max. Then it did not operate very long then.
The walking distance was 2.5 out of 5 and driving was at 3.5 out of 5. So, maybe this was one of the factors contribute but I doubt that was the real reason for its demise. I mean both of those businesses.
The Interior.
Reading Skate Center: Was this a roller rink? Anything about the interior?
Ice Cap: Clearly it was an ice rink. Anyone know more about the interior?
Both are quite a mystery! No photos, no information.
The Exterior.
For both rinks, the building is a Gabled roof Free-Span Steel Trusses Steel - Walled Warehouse - like Building. The paint job was just plain White. It may have had different colors though.
It is on a beautiful lot as I can see in Google. 4.9 Acres is quite big and that they could have expanded to include other entertainment venues included.

Dead Rinks is now International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© because many former names have become new names at the same rinks that are still active and due to much confusion, We have decided that International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© fits better for all rinks including defunct, closed, inactive, rebooted, and rinks that are still active today. For short on this site, it is International Roller Skating Rinks History© Bear with us as we change the entire site page by page each day. Thank you for understanding.
Second of all: The contents including words and photos above on this page and/or on any pages are purely educational entertainment purposes only. Rinks that are closed are considered dead. Rinks that are/were sold and with new management names new name(s), the former are considered dead. Previous operating rink that closed but came back years later, are considered dead because the reopening is considered rebooted, nothing to do with the former. Since we are rebooted to allow alive rinks, active rinks, we welcome those active rinks as well. It will be described.
As for “For Office Only” is for my reasoning and private legal reason for that.
