Raystown Roller Rink 14194 Croghan Pike, Mount Union, PA
Raystown Roller Rink was a roller rink on 14194 Croghan Pike in Mount Union, Pennsylvania. They opened in 1988 but they must have closed more recently as of 24 May 2022 when I made this profile.
I could not find the location to be exact. Google says its on a bridge over railroad tracks. Haha. Mapquest says its a residential house. Wrong.
Google Maps said it is at 14194 Croghan Pike.
Chrome showed an automobile dealership with the roller rink sign still up there.
Closure is unknown because Google Maps as recently as 2018 shows the sign still there. Yes, even Radio Shack sign is still there as of 2018! Radio Shack closed a lot of stores in mid-2010s. Now they are an online company.
Pretty much lacking information here.
The Interior.
Unknown.
The Exterior.
The main rink area had Segmental Arch and the front was well.. quite plain mansard 1970s appearance with shingles roof, Red Brick walls and a lot of windows. From what I see, it is a bit confusion with that because which door was which. It was not quite clear because there are no signs on the roof part. That usually helps. Second of all, they are quite tight space for parking. only 2 mid-size cars length between the building and the road. Yes, it is that tight.
The rink sign was on the wall. Big Fire Red sign with a couple skating on it with the name of the rink which I believe was a bit difficult for people to see even if there were no cars. You can see in the photo the height. Quite low for the name.
The whole front was not entirely for the rink. I believe part of it it was. The other parts were different businesses.
