Courtesy of Google Map. Noticed where it was? Yeah, surrounded water treatment facility. Was this the main cause of why this rink closed? Its possible because of the smell of sewer water. I would not want a business of any kind right in middle of this campus at all.
All above courtesy of GM. See the sign? Yeah, that is your proof where it was. And for me. Funny way to say this, "OR SALE" I think the letter "F" fell off.
Courtesy of Loop Net. ONLY best closeup photo before boarded up I could ever find on the net. Any more pictures?
Two photos courtesy of Google Map. After the rink was sold, they stripped down to the steel truss. and rebuilt on same truss. The final photo showed more modern and clean and professional appearance of the facility.

I do not know what the exact address. Each one I got off from my resources list from 1990s and early 2000s (see links) so I do not know exactly the address was.
One address I got off of Google Map saying, "1610 Shelton Beach Road Extension" and I end up with the sewer treatment plant area. I see a building that looks and built like a warehouse-like skating rink but I doubt it was because it is part of the treatment plant.
The other address I got was on a corner with a small mid-century 1800s storefront all dark wood Gable building with a faux Flat-roof look.. a very common appearance in 19th Century and some up to mid-Century 1950s. with that look. But it looks a lot smaller and its a meat butcher shop I believe.
The addresses I got were not good. Anyone know about this? With the address, I can pinpoint which and what and why. I do not have any other information off the net about any of those former rinks. Only I got from Kathy Fry with her own skate forum website listed former rinks. And said this way-- (Her own words)
Skateland of Mobile (call to confirm)
1610 Shelton Beach Road
Mobile, Alabama
Phone: 251-343-3747
The Skateland of Mobile roller skating rink is the home of the Mobile Roller Derby all female flat track roller derby team. (I believe this rink was formerly called Skate Zone and Rambo's Skate World aka Rambo's Skateworld)
(skatelandmobile.com no longer online - still open?)
That address is pointed to the sewer plant facility!
I cannot list any further unless I know more where to make a description.
This is one of most mysterious thing I ever have to work on for Dead-Rinks.
But apparently Skateland of Mobile was the final rink name. If that is correct order, then the first one was Skate Zone followed by Rambo's Skate World which is also known as Skateworld.
I would say it was at where the sewer plant facility is now. The photograph is shown above.
UPDATE! Found it. Yes, it was at the sewer plant location. Google Map blurred the sign. I did not think of checking the other side! So, I pinpointed to the post and moved a bit and you can see it without blur. It said, "Rambo's Skateland" very faded. And 2nd of all, the sign did say, "OR SALE" missing the F which must have fell off of the sign. And there was a huge for sale sign in the May 2011. Apparently they closed that year. Strange as internet has been around since c. 1992, no information about those rinks? Not even a yelp? This is why it is mysterious about this rink.
By the way, the address should have read as 1610 Shelton Beach Road EXTENSION. That is what Google Map says.
The Interior.
Since I could not find anymore pictures, Loop Net did the job explaining that it had custom spray painted walls (air-brushed painting similar to the other Rambo's rinks they had. You can see them at Sunshine Skate Center (STILL operational, but not as Rambo's anymore.) Needs photos!
The Exterior.
It is a Gabled-Roofed Blue colored Free-Span Steel Truss Steel-Walled and Cinder-block built Warehouse-like Building. it had Green out-built extension for admission/exit. It was full of windows around it. It had very common colors of course. With several rinks featuring this. Both dead and alive rinks. Empire Skates in Dewitt where I first began skating had those exactly colors.
The appearance looked simple and ageless.
