Postle's Skate City, 2057 17 1/2 Ave, Rice Lake, WI 54868
(Now as Skate City, not to be confused with the original).
Certainly there is a confusion. Postle's Skate City was original rink ever since 1948 till its dissolution filed on January 28, 1988. Currently since as Skate City. Check the rink out today (same with High Roller of Eau Claire because they both have very unique updated modern interior for their rinks).
Postle ran for 40 years. It was named after the owner, Donald E Postle according to Bizapedia.
I do not have any photos of the rink prior to Skate City of modern version although the interior of present day gives very bluesy night club feel with the lights on the rink. Not even that famous starburst light on the ceiling where the diamond ball pendant usually hangs.
The building itself if true since 1948, it has steel warehouse feel with gable roof. Unless it was updated version or relocated version. This view is based on the current Skate City.
I will need photos of the original rink. And the actual dates.
Rink Size: N/A Floor: N/A (Updated as Skate City in 2017-Likely White Paint Polyurethane coat Concrete) Floor Layout: Standard
Building Size: N/A Built: N/A
Roof: Appeared as Gable but not sure.
Operated: 1948 to January 28, 1988
(conflicting story--on Skate City website, it says they began in 1978. But both rinks have exact same address, similarities.. likely the name Postle's was dropped in 1978?)
Reason for Closure: N/A
Wanted: Information regarding photos of both interior and exterior of Postle's, not the current Skate City. Second of all, exactly when first opened and closed. Why closed or sell?
