Pikes Peak Skateland 109 North Cascade Ave, Colorado Springs, CO
Pikes Peak Skateland is not related to the Penkhus Family owned "Automobile dealership roller rink" of Pikes Peak Ave which runs toward Colorado Ave. This rink was likely in operational before the Penkhus Family operated the Pikes Peak Ave location.
This one I discovered in Billboard Magazine dated September 18, 1943 and a classified ad in Billboard dated October 23, 1943. This one would be harder to find out more than the Penkhus version. Having said, this pin-points them in 1940s. So They may have been around in 1930s and 40s. Maybe even sooner than that but the Penkhus rink was more well known and more recent which ran from 1951 to c. 1980s which is why people focused on that than the North Cascade location.
It was popular among with the military during the War and Post-War era.
This rink.. no photographs but currently as a small parking garage surrounding tall modern buildings downtown Colorado Springs.
