Pizza Hut?! Did they have a contract with Pizza Hut to make pizza there or what? Or their pizza oven broke down? I may not want to know. Haha. Courtesy of Petal Roller Dome Facebook.
Ah, that good old 1980s feel! Neon lights. The straight lines of lights are pretty much almost all walls. (Look at both photos above). Courtesy of Petal Roller Dome Facebook.
A beautiful Petal Roller Dome website home page! I love the look. They were 10 years ahead of time with the colors! This is the now look actually (speaking in 2021). However, this website was made in 2011 according to the photo. Look at bottom lines and you will see it says 2011. Now they have colorful children friendly website. I love this one above the best. Very sleek, clean design. Very trendy. Unfortunately, that website is down. Hosted through Godaddy.com. Courtesy of Petal Roller Dome Facebook.

Roll Around Fun Center 100 Cameron St, Petal, MS (STILL OPERATIONAL)
Originally, it was Petal Roller Dome which is named after the town they are in and they are on 100 Cameron Street in Petal, Mississippi. However, on November 17, 2018, it became Roll Around Fun Center. On Facebook, they are using both names to make it ease transition into Roll Around Fun Center. The Petal Roller Dome website that was operational in 2012 has shut down at the time and currently Roll Around Fun Center has their website up and operational.
The building was built in 1982 by Philip Gibson. Was it a different rink name in that building? Because of the architectural design on that building looked and smell like a roller rink since day one. Many rinks had that appearance. I seen many of this design in the Southeast US such as in Alabama, Georgia, Florida... those states. Anyone know about this? Please let me know by emailing me at [email protected].
Owner/Operator Philip Gibson who Owned Petal Roller Dome also owned the now defunct Hub City Roller Dome (previously the Patterson’s Skating Rink)
The Interior.
During both rinks, the Petal and Roll Around has beautiful neon lights all around inside the building. Seemly they have one really makes it accent of all is the SKATE sign in that 1980s-1990s capitalized letters a sort of a Drafter's hand print font. That is so 80s! OK, there were several colors to it depends on where you are. I practically love the 1920s-1930s, 1950s, and 1980s-90s neon lights. The light vacuum tubes, the letters, Making the place very 1980s-1990s look. Even with the heartbeat rhythm lights. Hey, 1980s is calling for all those back.. I guess not. Haha.
I LOVE the look in there! This is the rink I must visit. You have to visit while it is still operational. Good old 1980s lives on. The look is back really. Honest. 1980s look is back. The colors in there. very good vibrate.
On the rink floor side wall, that art work.. Now that really threw a wretch to show it is quite different than the snack-bar-skates-games section of the floorplan. The rink side wall appeared to be somewhat of an Impressionism. Somewhat. More of a Pop Art. Something look like what the Late Tony Hart (Vision On, Hart Beat) would do (right now, I am humming the sounds of the 'Burbs theme from the show, Vision On.) to make art on the wall.
So, this rink has two entirely different worlds there. Half is the retroism and the other a different retroism. (First half is all about neon lights and the other half is all about Pop Art.) I love the looks. It is a must go, skaters, please check it out!
The Exterior.
It is a Free-Span Steel Trusses Cinderblocks - Walled Warehouse - like Building with Gable roof. It has Rust Red on trusses and sort of softer duster side of Conditioner Khaki color hue. More muted though. I love red-tan/gold color combination. This place has it beautiful on the outside. But that was Google Map 2014 I see but I need to see the update look. From what I see, appeared small size rink but the interior showed it look large enough. Medium size is possible then.
