Peekskill Rollerdrome 1045 Park Street, Peekskill, NY
This rink has not much information but plenty of postcards shown on the internet. Unfortunately, I do not have much to say but it did say, "Home of the 'Miracle Maple.'" Indeed, it had Maple wood floor throughout with steel pipe rails around the rink to separate the rink floor and off-the-rink floor. It was very basic design according to the only one postcard as evidence of view on interior. There is no exterior photograph or interior photographs.
Currently it is a shopping mall. I do not have the dates either or size of rink or anything at all. Anyone know about this rink? Please do by telling me any information! Please email me at [email protected]
The Interior.
"Miracle Maple" as it called. But I believe it clearly means they had Maple Floor. It had Steel Pipe rails around the rink separating the rest of Maple floor off the rink. The windows had curtains. It was unique to see a rink has curtains. Must be they close it in evening sessions. Or for during the day because of sunlight get into skaters' eyes. it was Deep Red. But Sky Blue steel trusses. They were going for patriotic theme. They even had curved wall on one end. But the building itself had straight wall. It was just rooms that had curved wall. A rare sight to see back the day having curved wall.
The Exterior.
It was Arched-Curved roof cinderblock building with windows, I do not have any exterior photos so I have no idea.
