Google Map. As Treasure Island FSC. Noticed a very conservative yet excellent castle like for this facility. It reminds me of BEST catalog store concepts. Check it out what I mean by those storefront design with BEST Catalog Department Stores (Similar to Service Merchandise before it went online).
Palace Family Skating Center, 2795 Target Dr., St Louis, MO
Treasure Island Family Skating Center, 2795 Target Drive, St. Louis, MO
(Palace also was called, Children's Palace Family Skating Center and also called, Palace Family Daycare Center).
The Palace Family Skating Center or known as Children's Palace Family Skating Center ran from 1977 to July 18, 2007--the date of listing on Loopnet. It was opened and operated by Drexel Stith. I do not have much information about the business itself but the building yes through Loopnet. No interior photos available. It also ran as Palace Family Daycare Center. Apparently and perhaps both ran at the same time because skating today are popular among little children and tweens. But also with teens and adults but operating during school hours and after hours.
After it was sold, it became Island Family Skating Center according to Google Map since you can see a huge name on the side of the wall with a castle theme upon the front of the building. I could not find anything related to Island Family Skating Center either. So, I believe it is gone too. No one was at the rink when a Google Mapper went by. It has a huge parking lot with beautiful red brick castle-theme with towers on each end and the top wall with dividing top base. It shows every modern and freshing view of the building. Apparently it was updated and appeared to last another 20 to 30 years with that look if well care of.
Interior is unavailable. I have no idea what the looks were.
UPDATE: That building has a design that was a Children's Palace toy store from 1977 to 1994.
The exterior of Treasure Island Center reminded me of a style that BEST Catalog Stores used to have (to see what I mean, search for that store and check out images. Pretty cool right? Skating centers need to have that look! ONLY one BEST store architecture survive is a church in VA I think.)
