Orbit I Skating Center 1575 North High Street, Hillsboro, OH. I found the date. The coupon always have the date as required for expiration date of use. It says 1981. Rax had pasta and salad bars! A quite common in chain restaurants in 1980s and early 1990s before they were removed at many chains. Source: J.F. Retail Dead or Alive Facebook group.
Orbit I Skating Center 1575 North High Street, Hillsboro, OH
Orbit I Skating Center was once a roller rink on 1575 North High Street, Hillsboro, Ohio. At this site, after the rink closed, there were a numerous of agencies and businesses housed at the former rink including DMV, Highland County job agency, and more. Mainly one-stop career training and search center.
But it was a rink during a time (dates are unknown). Anyone know when it was operational and what the place was like? There are other Orbit skating rinks. One was in Illinois that was closed as well and the Orbit Fun Center is still operational.
No real estate information either. They may have closed in 20th Century then. The older the rink it is, the harder to get information.
The date on the coupon expired in 1981. This helped a bit that the rink was operational in that decade. Still need to know when opened or closed. Anybody? Photographs?
The Interior.
N/A.
The Exterior.
It is a Gable building and appeared to be large. Looked to be around 25,000 Square Feet to 30,000 Square Feet. The Gable roof is not quite perfect centered. It is a "Salt Box" design. It has updated the appearance including Bricks and a lot of windows. It apparently had mostly Steel sheet walled on the exterior. There is a huge front yard and big parking area. Orbit I Skate Center may have had other entertainment activities in the building unless it did house an NHL size rink.
