Orbit Fun Center/Skate Haven Fun Center 762 Columbus Ave, Lebanon, OH. Taken in 2007. You noticed it said for lease. Was it for the entire place or what? Gray painted on plyboard covering the windows but not the door. This might have been a different name at that time this photo was taken in 2007. Could have been Skate Haven Fun Center when the sign "FOR LEASE" was up. Source: Google. Orbit Fun Center/Skate Haven Fun Center 762 Columbus Ave, Lebanon, OH. Now a dealership parking lot with brand new models waiting for the skaters to buy this instead of brand new roller skates. Orbit Fun Center was once a roller rink at 762 Columbus Avenue in Lebanon, Ohio. This was a sister roller rink to the Orbit Skate Center which is still operational at 5001 Nebraska Ave, Huber Heights, Ohio.
There are tons of websites mentioned this rink name and at the Lebanon, Ohio location but nothing really. Just name and address. However, some sites also mentioned the other Orbit Skate Center in Huber Heights.
This brings to my humble educated guess that it was operated by the same operator as the Huber Heights' Orbit Skate Center as it was to Lebanon, Ohio location.
They had a bowling center with a few lanes, but the number of lanes are unknown.
A "Karen" on Yellow Pages said it was not worth it. This is how I know about the bowling and very old bathrooms and appeared not updated. Only about 2 to 3 arcade games! That was too few! Most rinks usually have at least 7 games or more depending on sizes. Even complained that there are no bounce houses in the facility. Oh really? Not all rinks have them. You expect them, "Karen"? He/she posted this in 2009.
It appeared that the rink closed sometime in 2013 or 2014 thanks to Google showing photograph of the former rink at the time. It did have roller skate on boards covering the window before that year. But after it was gone, it showed 2 different businesses-- an insurance agency and a thrift store. But the bowling may have stayed opened till that year. They closed for good and demolished by 2016. Now it is an extended parking lot for a car dealership likely for the dealer on the right-- the white building if you want to check out on Google Map or Mapquest or Bing Maps or even Yahoo map (only Google has human eye view level).
This was also Roller Haven Fun Center but I could not find any other information. Anyone?
It is sad it was closed and gone.
The Interior.
It was a multi-plex: a roller rink and a bowling alley. I do not know what floor material for the rink and as for bowling, I do not know how many lanes.
The Exterior.
It showed a very old 1940s-50s style Red Brick building. Flat Roof. Rather large to house both large rink and bowling lanes. I checked the bowling websites listing and it did not say how many lanes. I see it appeared to be just front door on the side where the bowling section was. They did not have equal size large for ROLLER SKATING the same as BOWLING sign was placed. That was a huge mistake on the part of the owner for not posting ROLLER SKATING sign on the exterior front wall because it is necessary to say it is a roller rink. Without it, you fall. In the 2008 to 20011 photographs, no sign for Orbit Fun Center. However, later, they finally did have a sign with the name of the entertainment center posted on the rink side but pale in size compared to BOWLING. That hurts too! The layout for all that was all wrong.
It should have on that left side BOWLING and on the right side of the front, ROLLER SKATING or at least SKATING and the name of the center should have been detached sign for motorists to see sign closer to the road. There were none.
Instead they had those 2 businesses occupying the former rink and they opened up with new windows as well by removing the plyboards and affixed with new windows. But they lasted like 2 to 3 years. Then demolished in around 2016 to make room for another sets of wheels called automobiles. It is still a dealership lot today.
