From Top to bottom: 2008 photo showing the Oak Grove Skating Rink with old large yellow arched sign. But the 2014 photo showed it is Extreme Skate Zone in a rectangular shape. It appeared to be faded but it is not. It is that way with camera and their fonts are too thin and hard to read. Both courtesy of Google Map.

Extreme Skate Zone 5272 Old Highway 11, Hattiesburg, MS (STILL OPERATIONAL)
Before the current operating Extreme Skate Zone, it was Oak Grove Skating Rink that was at 5272 Old Highway 11 at Hattiesburg, Mississippi.
Oak Grove Skating Rink began in 1992 but it does look like it ended in around 2016 according to Facebook when they were starting to use the name Extreme Skate Zone on the old Oak Grove Skating Rink profile page there. However, Extreme Skate Zone began theirs even before 2016. They were created on December 26, 2010. Give or take 6 years off. Because Facebook knows when you sign up, they date stamp it. So, clearly the real change was in 2010.
It appeared to be a name change unless it was management change. From what I saw on Facebook for Extreme Skate Zone in the Oak Grove Skating Rink business page, they even helped a special girl at the rink. This is a bonus with good management and staff to bring good reputation. From what I see at this rink, this is one of the rinks I definitely wants to go to.
The Interior.
They have a nice Non color, Clear coated Polyurethane Maple, straight layout. Beautiful wood floor. I do not see much pictures of the old but I see the new look. They have really attractive mural I like by a corner on the rink. It is on a curved wall with the words, "Let's the Good Time Roll." It appeared very professional. I love that. And the waves.. beautiful colors. Looks great on Black light. It is so.. billboard art I would have to say that oppositing to the graffiti that other rinks have and I am so opposed to that kind of art. This one nails it but...
But... what I do not like is the Extreme Skate Zone fonts below the quote. It looks like some kids taped on it. Dear owner of Extreme Skate Zone, please can you have it painted to match the slogan you have above? No offense but it appeared two entirely different art work that does not coordinate. Totally contradictory from each other. The pencil thin duct tape look of the name.. and size of it.. I may be deaf but I do can hear the scratch on the chalkboard. That is how I feel when I saw that.
A slight change can make a difference. Have you seen a business letter that was handwritten by a CEO that you are hired to work this coming Monday or not? I guess not. It is all typed up with a letterhead logo to congratulate you and tell you where, what, and when to meet. Which you feel comfortable? The typed up. OK, same with the mural. Just a head up.
The other murals are great too, the one with, "The Party starts here." is awesome I tell you.
The Exterior.
The skating rink is a Free-Span Steel Truss Steel-Walled Warehouse - like Building with Gable roof. It sits in a shopping plaza area detached from the remaining L-shaped plaza with about 10 businesses making the rink the biggest business in that plaza and separately in architectural style than the plaza which showed more flat roof style.
