North Syracuse Rollerdrome

750 South Bay Road, North Syracuse, NY
This rink is almost unheard of in Central NY because it was pretty much longer ago. In 1950s to early 1960s this rink was in operational at South Bay Road in North Syracuse, NY. Pretty much hidden away from the main road in North Syracuse where all the businesses are. It was right next to the residential section of the neighborhood. Currently it is a lumber store.
It was housed in a sort of an Quonset Hut building. They call that Segmental Arch because of the the arch that is shaped like a certain font D like the Ariel D you see right here. Segmental Arch means partial arch, not a barrel arch or half hard/Semi Circular. No, that is different. I do not have much information but it was run in the 1950s to early 1960s. I would appreciate more information and photos because it can be added here and the photos are worth a 1000 words. The hut really made a big giveaway that it was a roller rink. I had no idea and it is already March 29, 2019! Thanks to some people on Facebook!
I should have know that it was a rink.
The length of the rink you can tell by the wider part of the building up front were likely just for bathrooms, snack bar, admission booth, DJ,... The rest was a rink. If the lumber store closes, I would want to purchase this and converted back to a rink. The neighborhood may not like it because just other side of those trees and cross street are residential area. The building to the south of the rink is a retirement/senior apartments. So,...that is going to be tough.
That is all I have for information. I like more information and photos when it was a rink.

Rinks that are closed are considered dead. Rinks that are/were sold and with new management names new name(s), the former are considered dead. Previous operating rink that closed but came back years later, are considered dead because the reopening is considered rebooted, nothing to do with the former.
As for “For Office Only” is for my reasoning and private legal reason for that.
