Top three courtesy of 42 Floors (real estate website). Huge difference from outside and inside!
Courtesy of Yuma Sun Newspaper, February 26, 1986 Page 34, The ad was not small. It was pretty large. Roughly a quarter of the page. Interesting with this ad happening that Ozzy Osborne announced he gave up drinking and drugs for the sake of his family on the same page, same day, same newspaper!
North End Skate Station 102 South Main Street, Yuma, AZ
North End Skate Station was once a roller rink on 102 South Main Street in a border town called, Yuma, Arizona. The building sits kitty corner from a well designed movie theater complex on South Main Street. It sits on one end of the block attached to other buildings there.
Sadly, there are no other information regarding this rink. Must be much longer ago. According to my lists which are 1990s. They must have closed during 1990s.
Now it is an office supply and furniture store. The interior may have some evidence of former rink before the store. The photos will show it. If I am mistaken, please let me know and I will explain the interior differently.
Likely they closed when they sold it on October 10, 1991 according to Realty Trac.
The Interior.
Floor was likely concrete. There are unique designs with 1960s/1970s Futurist look with curves on the walls. One part looks like it was for bathrooms, the curves opening was seen. I can image for a rink back then to have that look at this location. I am not sure. But if they did, Pretty interesting.
The Exterior.
Quite opposite of the interior look, it looks plainly 1950s-1960s look with horizonal windows, extended canopy from one end to the other. Metallic window and door frames which also helps the date. Yes, it was built in 1964. Likely the rink was first tenant there and closed in 1990s.
