This rink had a nickname as Skate America with out the name, Moulton's on it as it is to shorten it. It was incorporated on August 24, 1979. I do not have much information regarding when it closed or sold to become High Roller of Eau Claire.
I do not see any photos seen online that indicate as Moulton's Skate America. Only I see as High Roller of Esu Claire. Was the appearance the same or remodeled? That is the question I have in mind to ask you, readers.
Can this be possible that it appeared the same? Also what kind of floor is that. It looks Concrete White floor. Or was that White paint coated Maple? hard to determined that by looking at pictures. Anyone, please let me know. I would appreciate your feedback regarding the floor.
Apparently the rink looked updated though. With Scarry Night-themed neon colors (Black Light colors) on the carpet with sections that appeared to be titles for plastic picnic tables in snack bar area. The current operating rink has a white-house themed wall and next to it a log cabin-themed section. This rink currently has a lot of themes.
The rink floor has also updated. Originally it had entire floor as White but there is a photo that has center of the rink in Deep Red Cherry color. Was both part of the current High Roller? Question is to find out. I need the date of closure or change of names and management. Originally the rink was named after the original owner.
Interesting read I got from a former skater about the rink itself. Yes, read it again.

When I went there it was called Moulton's. At first it was just a simple oval with standard arcade. It had some features I've not seen in other rinks. In the center of the oval there was a train ride for kids. Inside the train track there was a ramp where you sat on plastic seats with pivot point in the middle and could make them travel forward, I don't recall the name of those devices. To get to the center you could cross skating traffic or take the metal slides that started on the outside of the actual rink, went above the rink, and descended into the center. There were two of those and they resembled hamster tubes.
They later added a "parabolic curve" with a narrow skateable ledge on top with a small jump for more adventurous folks. On the opposite side of the rink there was also two basketball hoops and an arm wrestling table. This was when I was most active there. They used to have lock ins where you'd be dropped off and spend the whole night there.
Later on, they added a dance floor and a bunch of rooms to have birthday parties etc. A white house room, a jail house room are a few that I recall.
I moved away and have not been back but it was sold and I think now is a High Roller skating rink. (It is High Roller Skating Rink, A.F.)
WOW! A train in the middle of the rink! A ramp to walk over to the train! Wow! I think this was the first I ever heard for a skating rink. This was not the same train your granddaddy rode at the trolley parks (such as Seabreeze, Suburban, Luna Park, Coney Island, etc) but made for the rink. It just go in circles.
This place was truly different. A. F., what material the rink was? Maple or cement?
