Midway Skating Center 1561 Holly Pike, Carlisle, Pennsylvania was operational until 2017. That building that housed the rink was sold and the new owner did not want to keep it as a rink. It was sold and the owner of current 81 Fun Center attempted to open as a rink but did not as I can see on Facebook that the posts ended on 03 February 2019. It is no longer operational. Although their entertainment venues have changed. It is currently Midway Bowling, Cumberland Drive-In Theater, and Cumberland Golf Club.
It was sold in early 2017 and on or around 15 of April 2017, they closed for good.
It was a beautiful rink with very retro 1970s look. In fact, it was original. The graphics on the wall really made the 1970s look. The colors and look was a little Art Nouveau thrown into it. It was common appearance of the 1970s on this rink wall. In fact, they had Wood trusses run like it was your Living room at home. Dark wood look but it had Ceiling Paneling though.
It was truly 1970s look inside and out.
There was a talk of rebooting the rink at another location. However, that never came to fruit.
The Cumberland Golf Club has a mascot that reminded me of my old high school mascot (no longer) that has a Native American Warrior.
There were a few operators that owned this rink -- Donn Mowerey, J. P. McCoy, R. William McCoy, and Donald P. Group.
The Interior.

It was truly 1970s look inside and out. There is more. They had one area with lights looks like the one you seen on Saturday Night Fever starring John Travolta.
The roller rink floor was 80' x 165' with 24 Step Epoxy coated "Velvet" Floor.
The Exterior.
The exterior was very much of a 1970s design. Dark Earth-tone Colonial Bricks and Dark Brown Roof paneling around. Very similar to many commercial buildings like Wegmans did in the 1970s.
The style was a Free-Span Steel Trusses Colonial Brick- Walled Convention Center - like Building with Flatted roof.
The front yard is very large and could have used as parking but when it was crowded for skating, they had to park on the street for late comers. Good thing that street, the Midway Drive is just off street.
The Midway Bowling and bar are right next door.

Dead Rinks is now International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© because many former names have become new names at the same rinks that are still active and due to much confusion, We have decided that International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© fits better for all rinks including defunct, closed, inactive, rebooted, and rinks that are still active today. For short on this site, it is International Roller Skating Rinks History© Bear with us as we change the entire site page by page each day. Thank you for understanding.
Second of all: The contents including words and photos above on this page and/or on any pages are purely educational entertainment purposes only. I provide what information from other websites, skaters, and operators and it may end up with different results between two (or more) sources. It is not our responsible for errors we caused. All sources are shown on each page. All opinions and statements of mine are also stated and are for purely educational entertainment only.
Rinks that are closed are considered dead. Rinks that are/were sold and with new management names new name(s), the former are considered dead. Previous operating rink that closed but came back years later, are considered dead because the reopening is considered rebooted, nothing to do with the former. Since we are rebooted to allow alive rinks, active rinks, we welcome those active rinks as well. It will be described.
As for “For Office Only” is for my reasoning and private legal reason for that.
