Courtesy of Looney Family/Looney's Super Skate. Logo featering in-line skates with early 2000s popular oval trend for the logo.
Courtesy of Commercial Exchange. The logo in color, with stars compared to the standard letterhead logo. Tuesdays and Thursdays? No Friday and Saturdays? Ohh, price is cheap!
Google Map. Courtesy March 2013. All in White! You can see water causeaway for flood control. You are not alone, Alabama. Los Angeles also has them too as you can see in movies.
Google Map. This is the sign right by the road and Causeway. It did bother me and I am sure many parents too that it looks like an amateur made a graffiti with an arrow and the words, "ROLLER SKATING!!" on this slab-like standing up. It does give that rough look that the newspaper mistaken the rink was abandoned and bad area. Cross the street front of the Good Year Tire dealership that is to the right of photos is a dead mall for more than ten years. Part of it now occuppied by the fire department, and other public safety building. Finally a Dead Mall a jail house. Perfect but can scare off shoppers and skaters nearby.
Rest courtesy of Commercial Exchange and 42 Floors. Noticed the rink floor, its layout was for roller hockey, not roller derby although they had a Roller Derby team.

Looney's was a rink hat lasted 75 yeas before closing due to media misrepresenting the rink and area businesses. I really felt bad. The rink was just off of the boulevard there, the main cruising area. The town and the newspaper, Montgomery Advertiser mislabeled the rink and other immediate area businesses as "bad."
It was Pleas Looney who started the Looney's Skating Rink in September 1941, just 3 months before World War II began and it survived as a new business during the War while our soldiers fought against Tyranny including Nazis and Fascists. For 75 years it lasted this long.
But in 2009, Montgomery Advertiser mistaken the rink is abandoned and closed. That hurt the business for the next 7 years and then finally closed because the skaters and parents thought it was bad area and might be bad people there at the rink. It was not true. The scenery was bad though. So, it was Pleas Looney's grandson, the final operator of Looney's, J. Grayson White banded with other immediate area businesses to organize a committee to beautify the neighborhood, put in good word, etc. It is like homeowners association but business organization. More like a chamber of commerce for the immediate area. Smart move. But a little late because of the damages. Didn't they sue the media? Should have! Mr. Sandmann did sue CNN and NYT for defamatory and won his cases. Should have done the same and retract the story.
It is currently as 2211 Family Fun Center or originally as 2211 Ultimate Play Zone. More rinks are giving up the word rink or roller rink to focus on more entertainment features for children. That is sad how the direction skating rinks are going.

Relocated Looney's from 1970 to 2016 and 2211 FFC:
The Interior.
Pretty much a mix of colors. Oriignally much fo the walls were in Bold Yellow and Red. Both looks of a mixture as a reminder of either Captain Marvel (DC) or the Communist colors. This truly throws a mix with 1950s style glow carpet and the 1980s Pink and Blue hue colors together. It did not give a good mix of colors but they were trying to with the exterior white while it was Yellow Wall Bricks and some features in Red. But all that changed under new owners for the 2211 FFC. They painted the entire building in the same redness! It reallly does pops from the street as I can see on Google Map. They made good improvement on that regard.
Originally all walls Yellow, then Looney's changed by paining each section different colors. Must be they got idea from other rinks with the same color patterns. Each section different colors divided by Steel-Truss support. However, they have that 1980s party glow pattern carpet on the walls and floor with exception for snack area that has Black-and-White Checkered floor. Easier to mop up the spills made by children or dropped food rather than having to shampoo the carpet. Good choice to use laminated tiles.
The Exterior.
It is Fire Hydrant Red-Gabled roof Free-Span Steel Truss Steel-Walled Warehouse Building under the current owners. Originally it was all White. With Red-and Yellow section under canopy. They made good improvement by painting it all Fire-hydrant Red.
It sits next to causway for flood control.
