Lambert Skate Center and Lambert Child Care Center shared as same name for this rink in Columbus, GA. Then it became JAMS Skate Center. Also known as JAMS Skate Center & Child Care Center. However, it is now a church.
UPDATE--
Originally, it was called Skate Center before the Lamberts purchased it and added the name, Lambert to it. This occurred in early 1990s. Then somewhere there, it became Lambert Child Care to the name before it became JAMS. That is all there was to it.
A fan pointed out that it was Skate Center first. And she and others went to Skatearama in Phenix City, Alabama after Lambert Skate Center closed. Eventually, everyone she knew outgrew and stopped skating.
This rink is bit unusual to name itself as a rink and a child care center. However, it is more common these days roller rinks, play centers, bounce house centers, and entertainment centers are acting also as an all-day child care center. It does make sense with this regard since its easier to drop off kids who would enjoy children entertainment at a rink. Go skating for a while, play games with other children. Sing along, eat pizza (everyday? Yuck) and other entertainment activities to keep the little ones care of at the rink. I am sure they nap at the rink on the floor. Perhaps at the party room to keep them feel safe and quiet and easier to keep them there.
On April 18, 2009, JAMS went online on Facebook but many posts after that were all missing! No posts. Really strange. Did they fold immediately after that date? Its possible because Google Map history showed that they changed as seen on 2012 photo showing a Christian church. Now that they are skating for God by worshiping on the rink. No skating though.
The opening date is a conflict. On Rink Time, it says opened in 1996 but for Dun & Bradstreet, it said 2001. Which will you please stand up with correct date of opening? I believe the date would be much earlier than 1996 because of the interior design.
UPDATE! -- 22 May 2022.
I received an email from a family member who owned the Lambert Skate Center. Here is exactly what she has to say and I have send her questions more to come. And pictures too because those you saw are of Jams. Not Lambert.
This is my family as well. Battles Skate Center in Auburn, AL became Battles-Lambert Skate Center when my parents divorced and my mother re-married… then just Lambert. It also has a child care attached to it- operating as a separate entity. The Auburn rink and the Columbus rinks both were this way. Dedicated classrooms and teachers for infants through preschool, then after school care and summer day camps were offered as well- with field trips to museums and water parks as part of the package (and duh- skating!)
After school care even had dedicated buses & vans to transport kids from school each day.
Fun Zone Skate Center in Montgomery, Alabama was ours as well. It was destroyed by a tornado in 2006. Also Fun Zone in Dothan, AL was ours.
Finally- the death rattle… my mother bought Skate Castle and FunLand Park in Decatur, AL. She absolutely ran it into the ground and it eventually was foreclosed upon by the bank.
ANYWAY I do have photos from child care and stuff. Will dig them up.
Have a great week!

The email was edited for this site. Wow, BBR, what a history! And from what I read IN the email. Wow, I will look into that! I totally understand your situation and its all confidential.
The Interior.
It was revolutionary interior design. I wish they continued as a rink because it looked so refreshing design with everything including the Rooing Room as they called that for birthday party room. And as for the rink itself. Oh! So beautiful interior. The well balanced of dark ceiling with the tube lights which makes it looked as if it is lightsabers from that famous space opera movie series that the good religious group fights against the dark side. Those are very much of that movie theme in that rink. It may have renovated as JAMS. It was Lambert as seen on Google Map in 2007, then JAMS after that. Although Dun & Bradstreet said 2001. Perhaps same owner just changed name.
I do not know because not enough information and no agent name on that website. Well, anyway, there are more interesting interior design. They had the looks very similar to a rink in Florida with the theme look in 1960s and 1970s. When I find it, I will add link here. It was in fact featured in SKATE Magazine for that Florida rink because of the themes. It was revolutionary at the time. So this one I strongly observed in the history of architecture of roller skating rinks. The snack bar and eating area and I believe a pro-shop or skate shop has the Gable-roof design with Dormer style for the interior. It does give that 60s to early 1980s look. Kind of like you seen at the former rink's 49th Street Galleria main area inside that entertainment center in Utah.
So, again, revolutionary at this Rink. But my question is did they really open back then because of those styles? Good question.
The Rooing Room as they were called for birthday room had all the murals of all animals on skating with Roo. I assume Roller Roo is a Kangaroo. Very beautifully art work by a muralist. Very good that I think I could not do that. Ha. That means that is how good he is.
I see the carpet everywhere was very 1980s look. No neon colors. None of that. The décor of the rink was very 1980s with the light sabers lights on ceilings. On the very end of the rink, it was a neon skate with JAMS on it. This gives very 1980s feel, not 1970s as many rinks were around. Funny, some rinks I have been to in 1970s wee very 1980s feel. True.
The snack bar eating area with the ramp up and the Wrought iron cast that was very decorative. This is strikely similar to a rink in Orlando, Florida.
The Exterior.
Free-Span Steel Truss Cinder-block Convention center like. Building with Gabriel with Flat roof and Pyramidic canopy. I do not know original color for roofline but as JAMS, it was Emerald Green with Light Tan. Very typical of 1980s look. Again, like the interior, the exterior. It has to be opened in 1980s. Any thoughts?
