Photo courtesy of Sick Town Derby Dames. Very classy 1980s feel. Love that Green! Notice the ceiling? Quite unique. In the Google Map photo of June 2018, it is sad to see tarps on the roof because of the leaks. I pray they are all fixed up. Lakepark Roller Rink, 6400 NW Highway 99, Corvallis, OR
Roll-A-Way, 6400 NW Hwy 99, Corvallis, OR (Original)
A Willamette Roller Derby, 6400 NW Hwy,. Corvallis, OR (Current)
This rink, Roll-A-Way was first then Lakepark Roller rink till it was sold to Sick Town Derby Dames Roller Derby team to preserve the rink.
I do not have dates for the rinks however, only I have is the purchase date. October 2013. The team said on their website it was one of the oldest rink in the nation. Built and opened in 1923 and is the 3rd oldest roller rink in the Pacific Northwest according to Benton County historical resources survey. The place is very unique with special zoning that restricts to alcohol, skating, and dancing.
I also have another date. For the Roll-A-Way. It was filed on December 2, 2003. The problem is that I do not have the closing date and the opening date for Lakepark. If that so, what name of the rink before that. I will update of course. Waiting for a reply.
The building on the outside looks very antiqued. Hip roof with Flat top. You could say it is called Combination. So, let's say it is. The building was in 80 Percent Warm Grey color for walls.
Interior really showed unique look especially the ceiling. It has exposed wood trusses and yes, it does appear low. It has a tint lighter Emerald Green with Deep Red on rails and around the walls by the rink.
It does look very 1980s country feel to it. It has that pleasure feel to it.
