Loop Net. That is the new look in 2006 but photo taken few years later. Beautiful place! but sadly, not as a rink!
Lakeland Skating Center 2929 Layfair Drive, Flowood, MS
Roller Express 2929 Layfair Drive, Flowood, MS
Roller Express 2929 Layfair Drive, Flowood, MS
Both Lakeland Skating Center and Roller Express were at 2929 Layfair Drive, Flowood, Mississippi. They were great health fitness to do but right now, it is some office building. But then again up for sale or lease.
Since the building was built in 1982, I believe then it was Roller Express opened that year until it was sold and became Lakeland Skating Center in the fall of 1994. It makes logical sense. But when they went out of business is a good question.
Google Map showed that the renovation occurred in 2006-07 because that place was completely empty and a huge for lease sign was hanging on the wall above and another huge sign sitting up right ON the main center entrance to the parking lot there. Likely the skating rink closed by 2004, 2005...somewhere at that time.
Mincha and Ronald D Martin from Brandon MS, and W C Noblin JR operated Lakeland Skating Center.
After the rink closed, they renovated heavily after it was sold and became something and headquarters for a major drug store chain that was there from around 2008 to 2018ish. Then it sits empty till its up for sale again in January 2021.

The Exterior.
There are no photograph of the old rinks. I do not know but after it was sold, they totally renovated into a modern executive headquarters for a major drug store chain. The part is another tenant but the whole building is up for sale since January 2021. Perhaps the building owner just want to sell the building but become tenant or tenants are moving out.
The renovation looks very high class executive office building with large windows, Colonialism Architecture style but with modern state of art executive offices inside. The exterior looked Colonial but first thing when I saw it, I thought it looked like a mega- church. Sure does looked that way. It would be tough to convert back to a rink because all interior are divided into rooms for executives, and secretaries and receptionists spaces and already newness feel to it ready for next businesses to lease in without changes needed. Just a paint job.
The exterior has bricks, pillars, and Roman-Colonial appearance.
But I do not know what it was like before the changes.
The neighborhood is beautiful really. the road is curved and a huge open field is cross the street. It is a very industrial park like. Literally the term park including a park. Ha.
