Lake Worth Roller Rink, (North or South) J Street, Lake Worth, FL
This was the first of four-in-series roller rink that was owned by same owner who eventually shut down and opened another one at least three more times until death. There are not much information on this one compared to the other rinks coming up after Lake Worth Roller Rink. This one was opened by Reba & Inez Chalfonte in 1941. Both are siblings. They may have built in a military style Quonset Hut building because all other rinks in succession were also Quonset Huts. They were popular at the time. The Quonset Huts were derived from Nissen Huts. (Wikipedia). This made quite interesting and cheap to built rink in this fashion of its time. Opening during World War II (actually before Declaration by US Congress), that would have made the rink closed for good. The actual fact for this location is unknown. No information. Only it was set to open by the sisters in 1941. Closure is unknown.
Interior is unknown as well. Just the curved ceiling and walls. Might be small rink. No history is known. Any photos, information would be awesome from you, fans. Or people skated back then.
The other rinks from the same owners you can check out are Gayety Roller Rink and The Quonset Hut Roller Rink
