All above courtesy of Laces fan page on Facebook. Are my eyes OK? Looks like those two aliens are skating! E.T.s do not need to phone home! They love to skate! Make Aliens Skates Again! Hahaha. USAF must have missed those two aliens escaped from Roswell UFO crash that are still alive! Haha.
Credit: Google Map. Noticed the blue and grey building? That is a new building replacing the old rink. It is a sports venue center. However, it was only best view of modern facility on Google map in 2019. The old Google Map which is pretty rough digital has shown the old rink in Cream Yellow color walls. Gable and lower than the new facility. The parking lot is actually next door to the left. Too grainy to be posted here.
The Pipeline, 469 Fort Salonga Road, Northport, Long Island, NY
Laces Roller Rink, 469 Fort Salonga Road, Northport, Long Island, NY
The Rolls, 469 Fort Salonga Road, Northport, Long Island, NY
This rink was a sister franchise to the other Laces Roller Rink that was in New Hyde Park, Long Island, NY.
This roller rink had some history and went through changes as well. Originally it was a skateboard park for skateboarders to enjoy. Likely an indoor skateboard park, "The Pipeline" before 1980 when Laces took over and changes to a regular roller skating rink.
The last time the building was for The Rolls before fire and it did show in a Google Map in 2008 that it was lower than the new facility shown in the bottom photo. It showed it was Cream Yellow colored walls, Cinderblocks built warehouse like with Gable roof.
Laces lasted till sometimes late 80s or 1990s when it became "The Rolls", a different roller rink that no one knows much at all. Or was that back to skateboard park. Anybody?
Then it became a roller hockey rink, not open to public roller rink. Just for roller hockey facility named "Top Gun." Whatever all those changes, it kept changes its business plan or sold. Four times it ran business on same site but all for different purposes yet still at least connected to skating. First skateboards, then open to public skating, then skating again, then just roller hockey. They closed up shop likely in late 1990s since the building burned down in 2002.
Currently there is an indoor sports venue. The layout of the parking lot remains the same if you compared to the two photos. Laces's and the sports venue on Map Google.
