KayBee Roller Arena Cannons Mills Road, East Liverpool, Ohio. Likely this was all original quartet of the Ventures band members including the two founders of the band ready to rock-n-roll. This is the band that set all rock bands and music bands to play heavily on music instruments. Still most popular of its kind today although all new band members replaced retired or passed away members. Notice electric guitar? 1950s bands hardly used electric. This one did. KayBee Roller Arena Cannons Mills Road, East Liverpool, Ohio. Taken in March 2009. Real sad and what this photo was taken was properly taken at that time of the year. Look at the nature around. No leaves.. Cold.. Cloudy.. Dreadful day.. it goes with that. I know but it really showed us how sad it is. Courtesy of KayBee Roller Arena Facebook Group,

KayBee Roller Arena Cannons Mills Road, East Liverpool, Ohio. This rink clearly was very involved with the Jerry Lewis Telethon for MS back the day. RSROA was the biggest donor of all donors giving money. This is why they had patches at many rinks. Jerry even roller skated at Northridge Skateland (closed) in California. More about it, check that rink in that link for more information). Courtesy of KayBee Roller Arena Facebook Group,

KayBee Roller Arena Cannons Mills Road, East Liverpool, Ohio. Haha. Can you spot the mistake? More than one I can say. Check the photo! Haha. See below for answers. Courtesy of KayBee Roller Arena Facebook Group/photo from East Liverpool High School, East Liverpool, OH.
KayBee Roller Arena Cannons Mills Road, East Liverpool, OH
KayBee Roller Arena Cannons Mills Road, East Liverpool, Ohio was first built and operational in 1959 by Ken(ny) Burt Sr and his wife Nellie Burt. I do not have any exact date of opening and closing. Will find out eventually.
They had an organ there played by the Late Nova Dell Anderson who just passed away in 2020. She was 97.
They even had a big name band called The Ventures, a 1950s Surf/Beach Rock-n-Roll Band that the band is still active today. But new generation playing it.
The rink was demolished. It did appear cleaned up but leaving a lot of walls there in the photos. But it has been entirely cleaned up since I surfed the Google Maps. I could not find the landscape but might be one where a house is standing today because of the hill and the shape of the landscape from a satellite view.
The Interior.
Old photographs I saw on Facebook with so many people it, I had to sneak around the photos. It had Fan Layout Hardwood Maple floor and the walls and ceilings were raw from 1959 to maybe early 1970s. Because newer and color photos showed they did paint the walls. Baby Girl Pink, another with Royal Blue with a Popeye the Sailorman roller skating (Yes, Popeye roller skates!) in an episode called, A Date to Skate. Poor Olive Oyl. She could not skate.
I love the colors of the rink in later years. They even had the 1970s colors of from top down on the wall including White, Yellow, Orange, and Brown.
They had everything including Concession Stand, Skate Rentals, and of course, Coat Room and the rink floor itself.
The Exterior.
This rink had Bowstring Segmental Arch. roof line with Skirt roof up front. It had Dark Brown with Bold Red lettering. Feels bit country. It sure did because of the terrain surrounding that it was pretty much a lot of trees and a hill to the left of the rink as you can see in the photo. I see it was a beautiful area.
One of the last photos that it is on the banner of their Facebook page showed Appeared to be Dark Brown or was that Black? With Red letters.

Answers to the high school yearbook photo error- The Friday and Saturday times showed from 7:30 to 4 PM. Is it AM or PM for 7 and second of all, that would be all day skating from 7 AM to 4 PM! Haha. Third both schedule times are missing AM or PM. The Friday and Saturday and Matinee times both are missing the AM/PM. I read that the students who made the yearbook designed the layout and it was an error when they did it. That is what schools are for! To learn your mistakes and mistakes can be costly mistakes. Haha. Kids, stay in school and learn the better stuff..

We do not endorse such illegal activities including breaking and entry of former rinks, malls, abandoned buildings, etc. Please always obey laws and regulations and property owner's signs. Some states allow purple paint on fence which means they even have guns on their property and have rights to shoot you. Please DO NOT attempt to enter property without permission!
For abandoned rinks, after you receive permission, do WEAR safety OSHA equipment including a safety glasses, pair of safety gloves, an orange vest or a jacket, and a construction helmet.
Thank you for understanding.
Dead Rinks is now International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© because many former names have become new names at the same rinks that are still active and due to much confusion, We have decided that International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© fits better for all rinks including defunct, closed, inactive, rebooted, and rinks that are still active today. For short on this site, it is International Roller Skating Rinks History© Bear with us as we change the entire site page by page each day. Thank you for understanding.
Second of all: The contents including words and photos above on this page and/or on any pages are purely educational entertainment purposes only. I provide what information from other websites, skaters, and operators and it may end up with different results between two (or more) sources. It is not our responsible for errors we caused. All sources are shown on each page. All opinions and statements of mine are also stated and are for purely educational entertainment only.
Rinks that are closed are considered dead. Rinks that are/were sold and with new management names new name(s), the former are considered dead. Previous operating rink that closed but came back years later, are considered dead because the reopening is considered rebooted, nothing to do with the former. Since we are rebooted to allow alive rinks, active rinks, we welcome those active rinks as well. It will be described.
As for “For Office Only” is for my reasoning and private legal reason for that.
